Lately I had some eyeopening trades and started to see the power of S/R (or paying more importance to it). This really is some powerful mumbo jumbo! I believe understanding S/R is crucial on a pathway to become a good trader, no matter what strategy you use

Besides the posted stocks I also watched the E-G, E-U and G-U.
1. E-G, daily (by proxy) PB @ RNB 8800 price already broke this PB on friday and was pulling back to entry point, my keylevel for a pullback type entry were the bar lows of the 4H-BEOB which triggered the daily PB. We had a sunday gap, these traders were buying right into a supply zone. I got my PA for short on a lower TF, position closed @ floor pivot S2.
2. E-U, daily BEOB closing below BRN @ 14000. My keylevel for a pullback preemtive type entry was of course the BRN @ 14000. Unfortunately I didn't get a clear sell signal on the lower TF, so I had to let this one go.
3. G-U, big daily PB closing below BRN @ 16000. My keylevel for a pullback preemptive type of entry eas of course the BRN @ 16000. Unfortunately I didn't get a clear sell signal on the lower TF, so I had to let this one go also.

So only one setup triggered, in hindsight price did pull back to the mentioned keylevels and we did get bearish bar formations at those levels but not the standard James bar combinations in the case of the E-U and G-U.

Yes but the market is open for another hour after IBFX closes on fridays so I follow fxpro. Doesn't make that wrong, but just something I have come to do over the years

Yep this is what I think most people miss. They see one bar or one situation and make the assumption for all bars. So if they miss a bar and it does a huge move they apply whatever it was from that situation to all situations move forward. And then they do this each time(which is as good as system hopping in my eyes). I just try to be consistent with the things that i know work for me. But remember there is a lot of ways to make it work which is the beauty of this stuff.

no seniors comment on this because ive been around here as long or longer than your seniors. you can't do what i've done with out patience, fxamerica. also, it had been 3 weeks since my last trade, and EU has only .9 pip spread. hope that clears it up

Hi,

I am trying to work on BEOB and I am looking at different instruments in order to understand the setups that could make us trigger trades.

I was looking at WM US (equity for a change).
We have a nice BEOB at a new high that even engulf the previous bar.
We have a nice volume this day, and we can also see divergence.

As for now, do we all agree that this setup should grab our attention?

Now the part I don't like are:
- counter trend
- 36.00 BRN which is also a weekly PPZ is quite close, making the trade not worth the risk.

I would pass on this one, but am I in the right state of mind for BEOB/BUOB?

I do a lot of personal work with closes of bars. imagine if that same bar closed down towards the bottom of that wick(that is what makes it look funky in my eyes). It would now have closed within that blue box that would show additional strength to the downside.

Again I put a lot of weight on closes of bars personally

Welcome to the thread

There are only Bullish outside bars, and bearish outside bars. Inside bars, are simply inside bars.

By defintion.

A bullish outside bar(BUOB) is a bar that has a lower low then the previous bar, and a higher high then the previous bars. Its close is near the top portion of the bar.

A bearish outside bar(BEOB) is a bar that has a higher high then the previous bar, and a lower low then the previous bar. Its close is in the lower portion of the bar.

Both those bars engulf the prior bar.


And inside bar(IB) is simply a bars who range is smaller (the high to low) then the previous bar. Meaning it is engulfed BY the the previous bar.

Here is an example of each.

I know i'm not senior here but one thing i know is this kinda pinbar is juicy and like cherry if it occurs at the end of retracement and gives signal to go with trend.
I fixed a chart i know it is not the best cherry setup but is something like that.
The confluence is good.

Hey Emmanuel, looking at the James' #2, #3 post charts, he didn't mentioned anything about breaking the low of the double bars. It is just two consecutive matching low. Can you post a link of the breaking low of the double bars?

Again great words,but i'm not going to fall like that for loosing a setup which was not worthy but worked i know best ones worked and i'm not settling for less.

Simple little trade. BUOB at a swing low with some divergence touchig the 150. Would have been better if it closed above the 150.

Small retrace on open to the past bar high wich matched a bar low a couple of days earlier (Retrace entry anyone?)

I got in on the break and above the 150. FTA is the bar low it is approching. I am out with a small gain as I kept a very very tight stop while I am at the office as I can not always manege the trades when I need to.

As I am typing htis it looks like it has made the FTA.

Took the break of the 4 hour pin bar on FX-Pro. Wasn't an A setup, but I moved to BE and closed 50% after 20 pips. Currently +42

Took the trade on Vantage

Edit: Closed balance @ +80 pips

ooooo 666, thanks for drawing up that chart, got a better understanding of pinbars in trends. Btw, what do you mean in the chart where you wrote "looky here", do you mean PA is going to take place ard that area?
