Steve,

You could automate the BarCount optimization using.........

BarCount = NormalizeDouble((iATR("GBPUSD",1440,200,0)/MarketInfo("GBPUSD",MODE_POINT))/10,0)

Scoobs.

Ok guys; gobsmack overload at the ready. The update in post 1 contains:

  1. PipsBufferFromTradeLine tells it to wait until the market is this many pips away from the gold/green lines before sending the pending, to try to avoid sending a pending whilst so close to the line that it fills almost immediately and then the price runs away from the trade.
  2. Brought the sixths line calculation in house, to facilitate backtesting/optimising. Leave BarCount set to zero to take advantage of macman's optimising. If you have the indi on your chart, you have to make sure its BarCount is the same as that of TB in order to see the same readings.
  3. Brought the basic mptm stuff in house.
  4. Added trading hours.

Backtesters, you will be in hog's heaven.

Have fun.

I just put the latest on my always-on demo and am getting a few invalid stops errors as the management functions try to set premature breakeven stops, so I shall look at this now.

Hehe. Forgot to include the x digit adaptation for the imported mptm inputs. Fixed in post 1 now.

Hi All

I am currently running TB test across 20 currencys plus futures looking to find customised sixths for Steve.

Plan of action: Run TB on 1 ccy across 5 terminals using different sixths and applying TB to test resulst. Will post results.

Have a look at todays results using broker Activ Trade.

Astonishing results considering i only switched it at 11am UK time.

http://www.mt4i.com/users/bl888tb

From results ignore anything with size 0.02s and 1.0 as i was mucking about with this account testing AND anything before 10.48am.

Steve, macman, Bob just want to say many thanks for such a great system.. On Euro bund futures it shorted and hit target. Excellent road to victory

This will be left constantly on.

Cheers Scoobs. I tried this and it looks as good as anything else.

So, the latest and final update for now is in post 1. I added the same code to the Sixths indi, so redownload them both. Leave BarCount of both TB and the indi set to zero:

  1. both TB and the indi will auto-calculate the BarCount using scoobs' formula.
  2. macman has optimised profitability by calculating the best BarCount for GU, GJ and UC. TB and the indi use macman's calculation for the BarCount for these pairs.
  3. setting a non-zero input will override all auto-calculation. Only do this if you know what you are doing.

anyone else getting really crazy pending orders when you first apply to chart?

for some reason when i put the indi on the chart then the ea i have to go back and reload the indi and reload the ea, then they match up. but if i save it as a template and then load that template on another chart, everything is all out of whack and it might open a pending sell at the very bottom of the chart - who knows. then i go in and reload the indi and the ea and everything goes back to the way i think it should

im using ibfx: btw

anyone else with any issues like this?

Steve, the last version is not sending any pending orders at all.
Deleted all at the hour and stopped working!

I got a few zero bar counts when I applied scoobs' calculation formula, so I have gone back to plan A.

So, the latest and definitely final update for now is in post 1 - both the bot and the indi. I have not the energy to sort out what the problem was.

Also, I had managed to copy the line of code that adapts PipsBufferFromTradeLine to x digit crims twice, so the bot was unlikely to send any trades.

All is fixed again; I am not making any more changes today - even I can get coded out sometimes.

Run the latest through some backtests and enjoy watching the profits mount.

Dream Team??? COOOOOL. How awesome.

Quick question here - I have back tested GU from 2007 but results are not super. Am i right in assuming that I should be ignoring this as MPTM has been built into the EA and obviously not considered in the back test?

Steve,

I have tested the following code on all pairs with Alpari UK and it returns the correct number of bars.

The minimum it will return is 120.

Scoobs.

//+------------------------------------------------------------------+
//| expert BarCount function |
//+------------------------------------------------------------------+
int BarCount(string symbol)
{
int o = NormalizeDouble((iATR(symbol,1440,14,0)/MarketInfo(symbol,MODE_POINT))/10,0);
int p = MathMod(o,10);
return(MathMax(120,(o-p)));
}

Quite right, I agree totally. As you know how it works in UK is you fill in a questionnaire given to you by the court and you put all your income and living expenses on that sheet, whatever is left (i.e. income-living costs = disposable income) that is your weekly payment. I would say it would be around 10 Euros a week for the next Billion weeks!!! All the credit to French legal system.

Kind Regards
