hey tread, what's up with upcoming version? i filtered the bad trades for januar 2010. the problem was that some trades are holded from friday to monday and another reason: monday opening. now it seems perfect, only two looses caused on high impact news. one at 20.01 and the another one on 28.01. my set will be playing for keep . entry conditions are very hard, thats the reason that he tooks only 46 trades per month, but makes me 20% gain for one pair with 7.85% dd. i' started with a realistic account of 300 euros.

THV is help me much for fast entry in small TF. but for auto, could the EA developer add 2 things :

1. The buy / sell only selection on top of the EA
hey kissaki, try:

use it on M5 timeframe

imaxcross: 1020
coral: 1000 (set MinCrossCoralPips?)
cloud: 1000 (set MinCrossIchimokuPips?)

an option for only buy or sell is not available i think, but if your h4 analyse
is bearish go to options of the ea and choose sell (not both and not buy)

i think it's normal, your entry conditions are very hard too. ivoes backtest trades an average of 100 trades in 9 month. if you calculate 9 month with an average of 30 days without weekends you have total 270 days. that means that this set will be not trading 170 days in 9 month. correct me if i'm wrong?

You are probably right about the limited number of trades for eurus.
What I would like to speak about one more time is about strenght of the trend.
As all of you already know, january 2010 had a very strong trend, so it seems relatively easy to get very good performance for this period. But Forex has not always so important trend so be careful with results from backtest and try to extend to others period with lower trend or without trend.
I would be happy to see backtest from you for others periods of the year...
I do not say that I am not confident, just that we need to work more all together.

Please to find hereafter USDCAD chart for today and the trades associated.
In the results there is also EURUSD and AUDUSD. Very great result today that give me courage to continue....

Example of bad result will come as soon as I have a very bad one...

Strange, the EA didn`t take any trades today, I am with Letsarb`s settings.

you're right, maybe it can handled with new version of ea. februar is playing for loss.. but it i do the test again in visual mode, perhaps it can be filtered with atr and adx or next version of ea . and if settings correct i will test both months together and so on....

have you enabled ea? just check your settings for using ea's. does the ea in the top right corner smiling?

I think we have all the same problem, to find the right setting for this EA. To be honest I am sure this EA have the potential to run full automatic on many pairs. But to find the right setting we have to work altogether. My advice is to build teams which are working on the same rules on different pairs. First step is to setup the rules. So my suggestion for the back testing rules is a drawdown of maximal 1% on a 10.000,- initial account for consecutive losing trades. Sounds small but if you let running the EA on 18 pairs the drawdown can be 18%. The goal should be a minimum of 3% performance per month. Again, sound small but with 18 pairs It all adds up. At least the period of the back testing should be year and everybody have to use the same period, my suggestion is 2009-08-01 to 2010-09-01. In this period we have trend and sideways markets. Suggestion for pairs: EURUSD, EURGBP, EURJPY, USDJPY, GBPUSD, USDCHF, AUDUSD, USDCAD, NZDUSD, EURCHF, GBPCHF, GBPJPY, CADJPY, AUDJPY, CHFJPY, EURCAD, AUDNZD, NZDJPY.

This post/rules should be only a basis, changes and recommendations are welcome.

i'm in. my test set file for januar looks good, but takes the whole profit in februar. i have tested trix in combination with pinbar on m15. in this moment i try to use the coral (1020) for entry if trix rules are meet.
Good idea and good date range covering August and a Christmas period.

This was tried in the early days.... one suggestion, each trader has a specific timeframe they are comfortable with, use this as part of the testing, since the setups on the M5 will be different from m1, m15 ...etc etc.

•Pairs: EURUSD, EURGBP, EURJPY, USDJPY, GBPUSD, USDCHF, AUDUSD, USDCAD, NZDUSD, EURCHF, GBPCHF, GBPJPY, CADJPY, AUDJPY, CHFJPY, EURCAD, AUDNZD, NZDJPY.
•Period: 2009-08-01 to 2010-09-01
•Timeframe: M1 in the strategy tester to get relevant signal quality.
•Drawdown: maximal 1% on a 10.000,- initial account for consecutive losing trades.
•Performance: a minimum of 3% performance per month.
•EA Setup: The different timeframe which the EA is working will be fixed directly in the EA. Example: PriceCrossCoral: 100M30. @Tread: any advice which setting we will use as basis?
•Every set file including the report/statement will posted. (if the team feel better I can setup an Subversion Server with WebSVN: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Subversion, http://www.websvn.info/, with access only for the team).

If anybody feels not good with the rules please give me a hint. Now I am waiting for traders to join the them and choice there pair. The information will posted here to avoid somebody make redundant work.

Good idea. Lets do it like this.

Firsty test the M1 sets over a period on the different currencys. Followed by test on the M5.

We need to have a good comparison on each timeframe.

Setting up a subversion network could be handy in initial testing phase, the team then posts results and sets on this thread.

How many testers are needed. 1 currency per tester or more?

Also, testers will need to add value and make recomendation on necessary refinements...
