So if I understand correctly, we now have three groups of naysayers here, each presenting conflicting arguments:

#1. J16's methods are based on Martin Pring's. So the reason for avoiding J16 is that his method can either be purchased more cheaply from a Pring book, or obtained for free elsewhere (such as the free J16 thread). But......... to whatever extent Pring's ideas (and keep in mind that he's a highly regarded, best-selling author) are valid, then J16's ideas are likely to provide a similar type of edge. And if J16 is using profitable ideas himself, then he's probably a successful trader.

#2. J16 refuses to post audited accounts, therefore he's probably not a profitable trader himself. But....... there are a number of his students who claim that they're profitable. Hence they're either untruthful shills, gullible newbies enjoying some beginner's luck, or are genuinely profitable. If Jim is putting in time and effort that helps others to become profitable, then I believe he's worthy of their subscription money.

#3. J16 should be avoided because makes more money from his educational forum than he does from his own trading. But....... surely the membership numbers are largely outside of Jim's control. If demand for a product increases, that's likely to be partly due to word-of-mouth advertising, from satisfied users of the product. I may be wrong, but I'm not aware of any other form of promotion that J16 uses, apart from the free thread....... where folk can test the validity of his methods for themselves.


Am I a cheerleader or a lapdog for J16? Is he my idol? I have no more vested interest other than the fact that he's provided me with a couple of concepts that have helped me develop my own method. I have no idea how profitable his own trading is, and it doesn't bother me. I'm posting merely because I believe some of the attacks against him here are unjust, illogical, and completely lacking in supporting evidence.

I doubt that James "stole" them. He probably bought some of Pring's stuff and studied it.

Well it is nice to be awake and to see that this thread has now moved and degenerated in a different direction. It is humourous to see but shows that this thread has little credibility.

Twee seriously this thread has absolutly no education use what so ever. It was started by a member who has been suspended, it has been added to with more than enough negative, speculative and in alot of ways derogative posts aimed at attacking not just Jim but also the people who are part of his team and most of the people doing the attacking have been suspended for one reason or another.

Is there anyone who seriously thinks this thread is worth keeping. I hear the suspended members who are firing the pot shots screaming 'yes because its a warning to new traders, its to protect them and their rights to make there own informed decision'.

This thread will not go anywhere, it will continue like a neighbourly dispute which usually gets worse over time with the 'he said and she said' banter.

I have removed my subscription to it, it has lost value. Unlike PA trader who is so busy compiling evidence to take the world to court I will not be back.

don't understand with people defend james ... what is your edge ? Did he help anyone in here make any money? Ask yourself guys, you are bias because he looks like a good guy who answer anything "for free" . I mind you Jacko is the same ....

Looks how james treat to the handicapped people; looks James never ever make one live trade... but he is very active and open talk with the trade he done well. How about live trade? why only talk about something after the fact and everyone can see ?

and i know James trade daily and weekly so he has plenty of time to post chart, entry point, analysis ....

You guys are brainwashed so long.....wake up everyone

Hey look, if you want to learn, read the free thread and also read BRV's No Brainer Trades thread. Learn S/R inside out and how prices reacts around these levels - think Big Round Numbers/ Monthly Open/Close Price etc. Add in Pring/Nison/J16 price patterns (Pinbar, BUOB, BEOB etc) around these levels and note the first trouble area where price is likely to go. Very often price will make it to these levels. You can adapt this information to suit your preference in many ways believe me but it takes time and a lot of hard work.

Here is my take on it, if you see a price pattern at a major S/R level on a higher timeframe (monthly, weekly, even daily) and note where price is likely to go then this information is extremely valuable no? You can drill down to a lower TF to get a tighter entry and look for RR multiple trades. Look for a trend/ pullback + PA and you're good to go.

If you can develop an edge that has a win % of over 51% then your R:R only needs to be 1. All about maximising the winners and killing the losers. PA using either J16 or BRV or Mike_W or Ryanmcd methods gives you that edge and it can all be done for free on FF. No need to sign up to the PF, how much do you want this?

Yeah well Pring and all these other dudes got their ideas from Wyckoff and all the other early predecessors to modern TA and price analysis.

I would say most peopel reading this thread would see that you sound like a nut, and are more then likely to go check james out, so if you really want to stop people joining james, then I would stop posting if I were you, cause you really sound like a nut to most people, that's a simple fact.
