THV MTF EA beta testing

ah...Those trendlines refer to Trendline drawn between the Highs and Lows formed in the time period specified under the PreviousBars

That version still uses the coral to set the direction, you can alter the 4 digit to specified which time frame you want the use the coral on to get the trend.

wanna have! i'm playing with this ea about three months now and all set files that i made and strategys that i test (and i try much) seems to be good in the beginning, but fails in long term backtest. but i found one setting that plays with my mind. it need more optimizing for safer entry, a filter for the bad trades and profit can be better. i think the new version of thv ea will be do that. here is a backtest result from complete januar 2010 for one pair. max dd is about 9%. if it survive the next month in backtesting, i will try it for forward testing. thanks tread for your hard work!

Remember the back test is a really good indication of how the EA will perform. However it is unable to filter the news. So all those weird spikes and whips, you are handling it very well. For the Losses that do occur, just check the the Calender to see if any news was released.

In live/forward testing the EA will filter these out. So.... the test might be even better than you expect.

Also with regards to the failed trades, you should backtest just that loosing period visually to see what caused it.

thanks for your hints, calender were checked for some days and visual mode turned on every time. but i don't get thv 3 and 4 trix mtf and cloud running in backtest. screenshot doesn't work too. i run backtest in different tf's and compare the entrys of the first one from my screenshots i taken. do you know any method to get trix and cloud mtf working for backtest? mtf adx works! trix 3 mtf shows nothing, trix 4 shows the same color till i hold on visual mode and go to indicator settings. but everytime i do that, the colors are different. i'm sure the settings will be working (for example: 201M5 in M1) but i can't watch it.

Run the test for the period, then

Use MissPiss MTFTrix v1.9 and add to the chart, do it for each of the MTF Trix timeframe.

Also use the MTF ICHIMOKU to draw it Ichi on the chart,

then you can do the analysis

shows nothing, i try it tomorrow again. here are some results based on your informations that you giving to us. need a little bit more tuning for entry exit and filter. from 04.01.2010 til 17.01.2010. thanks again and again for help and work... one day if i get some money with your ea, i will donate you! currently my girlfriend and son takes my whole money...

hey tread, derox again with one more question. i want to calculate an "average" atr for min entry. i think if i set bars back to 100 or 200 it will be work, 'cause the manual said it's for calculating the highest and lowest point. but is it to affect some other settings?

There is a entry specific to the global ATR, see pic attached,the BarBack is for the HL stop loss

Does the news filter only filter out news that pertains to that pair or does it filter all news?

It filters based on any news related to the any of the currency on the pair

You can set this high or low or medium. It is based on the FF Calender

Trading the EURUSD.... any news related to either will apply

So with the EURUSD would it filter news that only said EUR or USD on forex factory's calendar or it would it also filter GBP, etc.?

I forward test these pairs together, so far zero trades. I have been forward testing for two days.

Check the back test journal for the time between order, then you can determine if it is normal or not.

Also check the live journal for errors.

When you place the EA on the charts did you choose to enable live trading?

I do not know if it is normal but no trades for me with your pairs these two last days. I have no time to check for the moment so all that I can say is that I had trades with others pairs (bad ones), with GBPUSD and USDJPY.
Forward test for the moment is not very efficient but more analysis is needed.

hi every one, I like to join this thread, I use THV for me entry in lower TF of my Analysis in Higher TF. I downloaded the EA of 1.132 version. And I read the PDF, I am confused for the trend setting.

Let Say, I have bearish analysis in H4. I want ea to make entry on fresh cross down of iMax in M5 and when :

1. The Ichi is below Coral, or
2. The Coral is Red.

any suggestion to set it ?

THV is help me much for fast entry in small TF. but for auto, could the EA developer add 2 things :

1. The buy / sell only selection on top of the EA
2. Price Box. Mean if the EA reach above upper or below lower price line, no new trade will take. the the EA must be refresh.

This 2 setting will help semi auto trading strategy.

hey tread, what's up with upcoming version? i filtered the bad trades for januar 2010. the problem was that some trades are holded from friday to monday and another reason: monday opening. now it seems perfect, only two looses caused on high impact news. one at 20.01 and the another one on 28.01. my set will be playing for keep . entry conditions are very hard, thats the reason that he tooks only 46 trades per month, but makes me 20% gain for one pair with 7.85% dd. i' started with a realistic account of 300 euros.

will be testing the next months,other pairs and then forward. i'm little bit afraid, 'cause backtesting was on demo account, spread will be live +1 pip. i don't know as it reach to set the set -1pip? have a nice weekend, derox
