Hi Ricmi,

I have been using it as you and Tread do, on a semi automatic basis, more like an alert system. My current settings are just too unreliable for me to leave it entirely automatic.

How about you? How is your set coming along.

Letarb publish 2 statements, his 1.131 version is looking very good.

His settings are part of the statement .. I would urge u to look at the stats

Overall 92% Win Rate with a
Max draw of 15.5%. you increased the
Capital by 73% in 6 months. And a static
SL of 54 Pips is not bad either

Hi Everyone,

To complete the post 3231, you can find attached the report with the same setting but from 01 january 2010 until 30 June 2010.
Profit is not so big compared to previous period. But if you really want to use the strong trend from beginning 2010, reduce the ADX value and the profit will fly... Of course it seems easy to adjust your ADX in backtest, it is the reason why I prefer to keep the same setting. The only way to reduce ADX in live is to get a good idea of the strenght of the trend.
So, for the moment it is possible to get nice results for a whole year but 2008 seems really more difficult to convince...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression one wasn't able to backtest an EA that requires feeds from other timeframes.

How did you manage to do this?

Was not aware of that, all MTF entries are backtestable. I think multicurrency EA (strength meter /basket) type EA's are not backtestable, since it requires multiple feeds,

Once you have an uptodate History you should be fine.

The problem with MTF backtesting is that visually the indicator do not appear to match up with the actions taken by the EA. Since the EA calculation is based on tick, the EA will as an example OPEN a trade based on the indicator being Green at that point in time in that candle. However lets say the condition change after the trade was open, then the last state would have been red.

Now visually it would appear that the EA opened a trade when the indicator was RED(which is wrong) and we come to the mistaken conclusion that the backtest was faulty.

Yes, Tread, but it`s missing the last part of the settings. After MTF_Ichimoku_Histo_settings there are more options. Maybe the statement can not contain so much settings.

Coral MTF I mean as support and resistance lines. it is very logical

and it would be still well taken into account the hierarchical position of coral MTF. for example, to purchase on 1M chart - 15M coral, coral 5M over him, over him coral 1M. and above all this PA. then buy. as a filter Flete and weak movements

The new MA Trend will be default to 20/60/90/200, EMA ... the 60 is the coral. You will have the ability to set TimeFrame and MA Period. thus trade the 3 Ducks

I tested the above, it keeps me out of more bad trades than just the Coral. Aside from which, those MA are what the institutional traders tend to use.

If your are trading manual add those EMA to a chart, buy only above/below when they are lined up. Also when all are converging to one location visually you can see the breakout coming.

I am working on tweaking Letsarb's set for other pairs but I have a couple of questions:

1) According to my calculations, since Letsarb was using a lot size of 1.0 on a $10,000 account, isn't that a 12% margin investment per trade? Seems high considering experts say never trade over 2%.

2) Could we not use ATR for take profit and stop loss and trailing stop to use with other pairs?

Please share your thoughts on these questions.
