Anyone surprised that the yen is gaining strength again?

I figured that intervention would send price the opposite way the central banks wanted it to after a while.

You can't support something forever when it's not the natural value.

Same thing happened on the EUR/USD when all the news of intervention happened, quick spike rally, followed by some of the strongest down days on the euro in a long time.....
Many choose unhappiness over uncertainty.

I can't help wondering how much they spent trying to change a trend - and how that money could have been better spent...

I think it will be interesting if UJ makes it down to 82 area as the BOJ pretty much said this is their line in the sand that they're protecting. I think you would have to be pretty brave to be buying yen down there, unless it's a long term trade
But I try not to think/analyze these things too much too much. Right now my tiny brain is full of PA and only PA

As a newbie I don't want to ask a daft question but .. I don't see a pin on the chart, had you took the trade what would your entry trigger be .. when it touched the ppz .. or bounced off it and drop to a lower timeframe for a PA bar entry ?

Glad to see you doing well, i missed this.
I like the BUOB on 4h and well tested support, on my other feeds one had closed as DBLHC if you except 3 pips!!
I was looking at 1.0248 as an agressive entry.

Have a look at EUR/USD 4H timeframe. Price closed 45 minutes ago with a nice bearish pinbar at a swing high.

Your question isnt duft.
Im learning how to touch trade, and thats why there isnt any PA on the chart. I found a good ppz area on the weekly and then i was looking to enter on the lower timeframe. Jarroo explained me a little about this here , here and here .

You can see that this time it would be good to enter in that trade, cause on the daily its forming a nice pinbar Thats why im trying to learn how to touch trade. If you find a good setup you're ahead of the game. But first you have to learn about PA, PPZs and everything in this thread, which gives you a lot of unterstanding of how price is reacting when close to the ppz. You have to learn to walk first before trying to run. And also keep in mind that waiting for PA is much more safe than touch trading. It all depends on the trader and how he like to trade.

some of the new people here really need to be careful .. go back over the thread and understand what is A+

How is a small H4 pin that is totally COUNTER the trend as can be seen on your own chart, A+ ?
Granted it might work for a few, at least u might get safe at BE, but that is by no means A+

Please be careful until u understand low risk setups

Hi All,

I am new to the thread..and wanted to throw up a chart of what I think is a nice looking 4hr pin bar at the 50% retracement level on the USD/JPY pair. Is anyone else looking at this and do you think it is a trade worth taking?

Hey Safe

I like the location, but the size of bar and time of day makes that easy pass in my book. Like pipmyride said, if were going to be playing on reversals we want something of substance. Now that isn't a blanket statement b/c some are fine with smaller bars. But still you have the time of the day. It is in my view that a big bar at a location like this gives us much more info and confidence to go off(at least for me I need the very obvious ). I like your location a lot though if it is going to resume this recent up move.
