Could you elaborate on some of their bugs on their live platform? Just wondering if those bugs are similar to what I have experienced on their web demo.

Most of the bugs I have experienced so far occur when working with charts or indicators.
Especially when applying templates or cloning charts (e.g. thing may be missing or not updating correctly).
Although I have to admit that most of the bugs I have experienced were on their demo, where I played around with,
now with the live platform I do not play around or test as much, since I have found my preferred setup already (sorry for that Althogh I assume that demo/live are quite similar).

But it is mostly the lack of features that is annoying, and the intricateness (handling), at least for an active trader.
I really would appreciate if they would get their MT4 platform going--or even better MT5; latter would fit my needs better.

But of all the 'proprietary' platforms out there I have tested (and I have tested them all so to speak), overall jforex is perhaps the best.

Thanks m.m.m. Some bugs don't make sense to me and I even got a margin call against me for no reason, but then the trade did execute and I took profit later on last night, so I see some bugs in the message box mostly and sometimes the currency boxes hangs etc, so it is worth playing around with their demo before going live to get the feel for it all.

After doing much research, I decided yesterday to open a live account with them and Fed Ex'ed my documents as they really seem very credible and being under Swiss Bank Laws, I feel more safe depositing there than other places.

Haha really! That's something that I have not seen ANY broker do. Anyway........ I've been with Dukascopy for about a year and have had no problem whatsoever. I use their Java manual platform. Low cost and great service.

Has Dukascopy made any official statement on the new forex rules going into place?

Looking back at the previous posts they appear to be considered a bank and those rules apparently don't apply to banks so that makes things interesting. The extra leverage might would come in handy here and there but mostly I'd just like to be able to get around the FIFO and no hedging rules.
I'd just like to know if it seems like they'll be more hesitant to give US forexers an account once those rules go into place even if they legally can.

The account I have overseas now will be moved over to the US the middle of next month and I'll either shift to MB Forex or Dukascopy.
I was already eying a move anyway and this just made my decision easier ha

Can anyone explain the paragraph below in the Dukascopy fine print? I thought true ECN's were not engaged in that type of activity of trading against their user's or am I misinterpreting what it is saying?

I already sent my documents to open a live account with them and they have been nothing less than great so far with everything.

The user understands that the business model of the SWFX Swiss Forex Marketplace consists in ensuring best execution for the transactions of the Users and matching the transactions between any of its Users or Counterparties, each trade being instantly hedged with a countertrade. In that respect, on the SWFX Swiss Forex Marketplace, Dukascopy is counterparty of each trade and counter trade, In some circumstances, Dukascopy may not hedge entirely or may not hedge at all certain trades, In such cases, Dukascopy may have opposite positions towards Users.

Now lets take a minute to think this threw. If I’m going long I had to buy from a seller if I’m going short I’m selling to a buyer. Short and simple, there's always going to be someone on the other side of the trade the trick is making a profit.

Your goal is to have positive cash flow and preserve your funds not worrying about who’s on the other side of your trade. Right?

I guess so? I just don't understand it enough, that's why I posted it because I keep reading how brokers everywhere "trade against" their clients regularly, but I really don't know what that means. I do understand when people complain about some outfits running their stops with false spreads etc, but that's about it.

I noticed PT multistation can also be used to trade with your Dukascopy account, and this platform (trading terminal) is free (at least for the main functionality)!

I am using PT multistation with FXCM though...

Could you or someone here with a live account tell me what the extra fees would be when the leverage is from 101% to 199%? Just want to make sure I have all my bases covered as I'm going live in 3 days.

All forex brokers are market makers........they are just using the ecn model to lure clients to them.

Dukascopy Bank SA: I regret to say that Dukascopy isn't intending to offers its clients MT4 for live trading as it goes against our ECN ideology. Our JForex platform offers a position execution time of 0,7 seconds what doesn't happen with the now older MT4 platform.

Is my question dumb? I asked Dukascopy directly via email and never got a reply either LOL. My thinking is that since they still allow your positions to stay open up to 199% used leverage, that there must be extra charges from 101% to 199%??? Since I like holding on to pairs until they rise to my liking, I wanted to know just in case so I have everything clear from the beginning.

Extra charges, none that I can think of. The only “increase” I foresee is that if you opened an account with more than 5K your commission structure would change per 1 million in volume traded once your account went below 5K. Check out their commission policy page.

Thanks for the reply JD! I did look at their commission page and saw nothing about charges for going over leverage that I could find. Will take another good look and see what I can find.
