Peter,

Its always easier to diagnose an issue when it affects everyone but when its only some clients having issues its more tricky,
Our IT are looking to switch to our backup shortly if they cannot diagnose why a few clients are affected but with MT4 switching to backup takes a few mins.
We will keep you posted and of course we are available by phone to help you and rest assured this will be fixed asap.

Cheers

GoM, what’s happening?
Your server has been disconnecting every few minutes all morning. I was connected to DC3 then you connected me to DC2, then DC3, then DC2 again, twice I’ve been connected to DC1. I’ve just been connected to DC3 again, that’s the one I want.
What’s happening?

Chris

In fact I have experienced such disconnections quite often.
Now in Malaysia 12.58 pm, I already experienced I don't know more than 10 disconnections this morning, I don't make record but I heard many. Yesterday also got.
Isn't that when disconnection happens each time I can hear the "sound," then the message "no connection" displays at the bottom-right corner of the screen, and/or at times another message displays "common error?"

Just to let you know this is happening here

Regards
Lee
p.s. I am in live acct.

Lee,

Thanks for your message , its interesting to hear some disconnections that are not localised, I will pass it to IT, I must admit in my experience it all seems to be pointing to an ISP issue hence if we switch to our backup in Singapore temporarily it will route differently and should fix the issue.

Cheers

I had the same, repeatedly disconnecting and swapping between servers.

I'm in regional Vic, Aus.

Was just about to write it all seems better now, but just disconnected momentarily again.

Edit: getting continual disconnections again!

Edit 2: I'm getting no updates of chart prices, I can modify open trades but can't see the current price.

Edit 3: is now doing the same as described before. dropping in and out and jumping from server to server!

Hi Blackrose,
Still disconnecting, I can hear it every few minutes.
I’m in Tasmania and regularly find DC2 unreliable. That’s why I like DC 3 best, as I find it more reliable.

Hi,

Just to keep you in the loop it seems more and more like a DC2 issue hence why it is only affecting some clients and most seem to be in Victoria, but iof one DC has issues it causes some strain on others. Our IT are liasing with the data center in Victoria to fix the scenario.

Cheers for your patience

I was just on DC3, heard the server disconnect and I’m now connected to DC1. Clicked “Rescan Servers” and been connected to DC3.

Just posted this and the server disconnected and put me on DC1. I’ll leave it there and see what happens.

Just disconnected again but this time left me on DC1.
Maybe Tasmania is closer to Singapore than Australia.

Ooops I’m now on DC2.

Thought it was fixed went 5 minutes, but no just connected me to DC5. I wish Tasmania would stop floating around.

Been away for half an hour and I’m now connected to DC1 again.

Thanks for your updates,
System should start to stabilise as the DCs are being reloaded and ISP issue has been rectified.

Cheers for your patience and as ever give us feedback if you have any probs as its hard to pinpoint if only some are affected.

Cheers

I, for my 2 cents worth have seen enough, if i can get any broker based in the US or Europe to execute an order in a few miliseconds without any hassle whatsoever,i cannot understand how an Australian based broker can take from 4 seconds to a massive 13 seconds just a few minutes ago.
Bye and good luck, you will need it.

GO Markets policy on spikes is if they are not genuine prices and are not replicated on other systems then we will assume its an error and adjust all trades no questions asked.

We will look into the above spread but from memory this was replicated on other systems so we can only assume its a genuine price/spread. EUR/NZD has a tendency of being a very volatile pair and you might want to also check other Currenex feed providers as it probably will show there aswell.

Again we are happy to revisit this and take a look again and revert back....

How does one go about finding out if it was replicated on other systems?

Thanks

Generally GoMarkets is an excellent broker, but I've had this happen a few too many times as well....
Ignored
Thanks Dozer -- agree with you that GoMarkets is good -- and am in the process of upgrading EA for this. Funny note is that while I was on the phone with GM (very good customer service btw) my order triggered again and went to profit in :02 seconds pulling in more than half the loss -- still this INSTA SPREAD STOP OUT is so.... HFT!!!!

It may have been a technical "Change Over" issue from NY to Wellington and likely at Currenex as it seems GoMarkets just passes thru what they are given. That's fine -- it was a very simple run of the pendings on BOTH sides just before NZD news during extremely low volatility times... Indeed, that move at NZD retail news release was huge. Running the pendings on both sides by Currenex is my suspicion at this time... Easy money.

Indeed GoMarkets would be offering a fantastic service to filter this obvious HFT type move -- quite similar to a FLASH CRASH on a stock when the BIDS blow out to .01 for a millisecond then back to 34.01 etc. As Wall Street is very much seeing in record withdrawal of funds -- these flash crashes (spread jumps) will totally kill trust in the market place. Yet, when NASDAQ has any of these they will roll back the trades.

As computers are more and more responsible as MARKET MAKERS they will have times when they just loose it and bids fall away or when savvy humans do the sneaky sneaky. This is a very serious issue...

See this: http://www.zerohedge.com/article/ano...er-flash-crash

Thanks for your time and consideration on this Chris. I appreciate your services as a Broker. Cheers!

...
UPDATE: The investigation I've done seems to indicate banks many times will pull offers/bids before big news events and this is just what one will have to contend with on an ECN feed. So to me its not any issue with GO MARKETS -- its just the nature of an open pool of bids and offers. Just another reason to always consider one's RISK PROFILE (2% or less) so that WHEN these things hit you can get back up and trade again. Again, I think Go Markets is a fantastic broker period!

Guys,

That was our daily restart that all MT4 providers have, it was a few longer minutes as more people were trying to log in at once.

No prob this end

Yes, you are correct.
I must admit though that in all fairness the restart will prob be a bit quicker if its a bit earlier as less clients trying to log on at that time.

The restart was moved but it might be better for clients to tweak it a bit earlier.

Cheers

Thanks, How about 10 am NZ time? The Dow has closed and it seems to be the quietest time of day. Or even at 1/2 past any hour so as not to affect an entry on a candle close/open.
Cheers
