asasa any thoughts on using the 4/8 crossover as an exit?

Hello Asasa, please see attached log from EUR/USD. The trade was put on at 20:45 and exited at 21:45. Could you please look and tell me why it exited. I didn't see the slope line change color or direction. Everything in the EA should be set to default except the fixed lots which I set to 1. Thanks!!

The slope direction line was rising while you had short positions open -> exit condition.
PS: Please next time do not remove the dump of the external parameters values from the log file.

Thanks Asasa, it appears to me that we should consider another way to exit these positions. I am not exactly sure what at this point, but I believe it's worth looking into. Also, when you say do not remove the dump of the external parameters, I am not sure what you are talking about. I did delete a lot of the log entries right up to the time the trade was put on. In the future would it be best not to delete so many log entries before the trade? Thanks!!

I was referring to this information (see below).
It shows me exactly how the EA was configured at the time of the error (or bars we are investigating).
When you remove lines from the log, you have to leave this important info for me. At least, do not remove the lines pertaining to the last EA restart before the time of our interest.

I have been reading this thread and look is focused on EA. What about the system.... Do anyone trade it manually? Real account? May be the information is on ot but can't find it.

Hello, this does not work in MetaTrader 5??? It works in 4 but I have started using MetaTrader 5 and it does not work over there?? Any suggestions??

There's no backward compatibility between MT5 and MT4

I see that, everybody is looking for the holy grail, but it doesnt exist... Nobody cares about that. Nobody want to work, and learn. Every period there are some people who think doesnt need hard work to earn a lot of money... but its wrong. I advice you sould siting front of the PC, and looking for the best opportunities, only the best. Everything else is wasting time (EA programming...) Everybody put up the screenshot if he do a trade, and we talk about that.

Its my opinion. (but i know, the OPINION is like the anus, everybody has, but nobody interest about the other people)

I think, this system cannot be programmed. Use the trendfollower+snapshot alert expert, ANALYSIS OF THE UPPER TIME FRAMES, and you will be rewarded.

The system in its original form can be programmed, as you can see, otherwise tell me where the EA is failing to reproduce the operativity of the system.
The simple fact is that the strategy itself is a loser.
If you think that the manual intervention of the trader is needed to make it profitable, than again the original strategy is a loser.
If you think that the strategy can be profitable with additional rules (as you say about the analysis of the upper timeframes) then let us have more precise and deterministic information on how to modify it.

We can say that Wicker's strategy is a strategy to make an entry. When Wicker said he looks at 1H TF before he makes an entry, then does anyone know how he looks at higher TF. Does he uses rainbow as a trend confirmation or use a combination of rainbow + EMA34 + Slope line? Can anyone confirm this matter and show example of looking at higher TF then make entry at 5m TF.

The only thing that EA helps here is already made EA giving a signal for entry. That helps trader to not sit all the time in front of pc.That menas trader has already made analyis and wait for signal in according with his analysis. Every other discuss about EA shows only one thing-lack of knowledge/expirience. Maybe EA will give good results in some short time. But, that is ambush, trader who base his trading in EA with past results of testing doesn't know if future market condition will be the same as in testing period. Now I want to ask traders here one important question, on picture bellow we have a trend of EUR/USD how many good set up entry we had in last 30 days counting from 10th of september???? IF that is trend follower system we must have plenty of them. IS that a case? Check for yourself.
Conclusion!
I am very sorry if I am "EA mythbuster" for who knows what time on this thread. IF you read whole thread you will notice that every few months EA discussion begin and "new kids in the block" want to make EA. I will be the first one who will be happy that EA exists with profit, but with logical and rational thinking it is obvious that this is not possbile. And if there maybe is some EA with profit for long run then this system is not that for sure. Now, who will count how many good entries we had using TF5min system in trend on picture bellow??????? OF course counting bad entries too..........meaning, entries where stop loss has been hit.

I have never tried on mt5 but probably it could be possible. Try it.
