you would have loosing or breakeven days of course like any strategy, but those were always typically when I would NOT follow the rules and tried to force a trade or anticipate a trade. I typically made between 20 and a 100 pips day trading with this strategy some days more some days less the good trades always far out performed the bad trades, of course I have pretty much always kept my trades on pretty short leashes in terms of initial SL.

I have found when all the rules are followed generally their is very little drawdown. Duds do pop up tho. And like any system losses are a part of trading.

Good trade/money mgmt with this system produces solid results. Actually I have found that when I couple EndRoutes sys. with mine it's a great confirmation and I am seeing it may allow me to enter trades a tad bit sooner.

Hi there Endroute... thanks for sharing your method.

Three years since this thread was started and the strat is still being traded. You mentioned back then that coding it is feasible... Well, I'm a programmer and have done plenty of MQ4, but I'm wondering about your exit points.

Back in '07 you mentioned to use S/R for exits and stops of 20 or 30 pips. Is there a way to formulate your exit strategy? What I'm getting at is that in terms of entry I could code this thing and make it enter trades like you've described on autopilot easily enough. It seems though that there's some AI needed to make good exits?

What about running with some kind of dynamic trailing stop? Say a stop that starts at 30 pips and closes in by 1 pip for every 2 pips positive. Do you think that might work or some other similar programmable approach to exits? Any input that you can provide with respect to how to nail down the exits would be of interest to me.

Hi, i can't find this indicator Laguerre (set to .65 and 950 bars) in my platform??? i'm using mt4 alpari uk.

That is because it is not a standard MT4 indicator. You must load it to your platform into your indicator file. It will appear in your custom indicators. Just drop and drag. The indicator is in the zip file on post #11 first page of this thread.

london session or US session for this baby?
do you trade just a few set hours a day or do you just get to the charts every day at a set time, and blast away until you are satified with your risk or rewards for the day?

think i might give this baby a go, to educate myself some more, i normally trade larger time frames, but another tool in t box will be great for when i am waiting for the larger timeframes to confirm!

Hi Endroute ,

I just went through the strategy and I am really impressed with the back test though the backtest is still on....

In the mean while, I deliberately selected the EUR/USD period from 9th Feb 2010 to 15th March 2010 on H4 charts. This period was too much rangebound and I am sure most of the trend chasing system would have done poor.

Trades
Take trades on M15 based on H4 trend. So, if H4 signals uptrend, only Long M15 trades and vice-a-versa

Trend determination
H4
Uptrend is signaled when Laguerre rises above 0.15 from down to up at the candle close
Downtrend is signaled when Laguerre falls below 0.75 from up to down at the candle close


Entry M15
My filters -
1) I look for CCI and Laguerre to trigger signal at the same time

2) Stochs combined on one indicator must be open and headed towards one direction, clean and above 50 for buy and below 50 for sell

Stats

During the above period of EUR/USD,
there were 13 trades of which only 2 hit stop loss and rest gave atlest 2R. Few turned runners


This is not to be considered concrete result since the sample period is few weeks and few trades. The only thing I like was extreme range bound period during which this system fared very well. And the back test continues.....i will test it till 1000 + trades accross many markets.

endroute, you are the man! What a simple, nice and powerful strategy!

It seems to me, that we can use it on the H-1 too. At least on the history it looks very nice. I'll demo it for a while.

make sure your laguerre is compiled as "Laguerre.ex4" in the \experts\indicators folder

Somewhere along the line you seem to have given up. Shortly after the last time I posted in your thread... your EA was UP over 1,100 pips on about 6 or 7 currency pairs in about one day or so. And yes, that was all lost because the EA did NOT take long positions or close out at any particular time.

Maybe you fixed the EA for yourself and no one else. I cannot blame you for that but why tell someone else that something can't work, or at least give them an opinion.

I wonder "how many people in the last 100 years or so have been told ... it won't work."

If the EA is opening good trades why not use the multi purpose trade mgr to set stop losses and close the trades

i meant the ea will never work for this strategy, not indi.
this indi is good and i use it up to now.
