Similar effect can be obtained with F12 key. It just brings shifts the chart one bar at a time. So, any time frame is okay with this.

did any one notice similarities in pin bar and head and shoulder pattern
for me they both are same
only difference is on which timeframe u r looking

Re plotting PPZ areas, is there a best Time Frame? I like to trade off Daily / 4 Hour but don't want cluttered charts because i see levels on all zones.

Today E-G finally broke out of the earlier mentioned flag pattern, on the 1H-TF the break and the 1 bar pullback are clearly visible. My reference point for this trade would be the monthly high of august @ 8363 and my entry is off the 1H-TF. Price generated a rejection bar at this level. FTA would be the high of july 29-th daily bar @ 8400-ish, I quess, only I'am not sure about this, could one of the senior members elaborate on this ?

Hello Chelski,
ideally, plot PPZs on Daily to Monthly.
doing this will create fewer but stronger PPZs... fulfilling your goal of less chart clutter.

The issue i have (being slightly obssesive compulsive) is i plot a line on Weekly that looks less obvious on Daily. (not as neat ) Do i then put the daily line in too?

less obvious = not as neat?
daily line, meaning daily PPZ?

try to use one line color (or 1 color,different hues) so the lines will appear neat
try to be picky, so u will come up with less lines on your 4hr/Daily.

im not sure i answered your question completely, so let me know. (im OC too)

Yes you did answer, i will use lines and the drawing tool to make it clear. I guess this also helps when i get a set up and looking for trouble points etc.

FTA/PPZs are quite subjective ('subjective' in the sense that 2 or more traders wont have the exact price)
july29th high is around 0.8395.
but yeah, FTA around 0.8400
i see a PPZ at 0.8390 - 0.8420.

Hi Folks,

Spotted a pinbar set-up, short @ 84.204.

Some reasons I attribute to my trade:

1) Pb close above PPZ.
2) Moving along with the trend (down, in this case)

Would appreciate any comments if my move was good/bad. Thx guys!

That Pb doesn't look like being at possible swing high, it looks more as 4th bar in the horizontal price chop. I think this is its main weakness.
Other would be bar structure itself, no space, traffic..

Regarding simulators, Ninja Trader even in the free download comes both with a trading simulator and a replay feature.

The simulator will slowly generate bars you can trade with a certain premade account like you were in real. There is also a slider (I tried version 7 beta) where you can change the "mood" of the simulated market, from most bullish gradually down to flat and then more and more bearish.

The replay will play past market like it was live and it also got a special account you can use and see how you are doing. The play speed can be changed at will from slower than real to something like 500 x real.


There is also Trade Navigator with similar features but it's payware past the 30 days demo.

Dfumagali, what broker is it from? I don't think mine has that function. I will check.

EDIT: sorry I didn't understand your idea at first. Yes mine has that too, but it is FICTIONAL market, that has never happend. And I don't get how to use replay, may be it is only available in full version. I see it, but its not working...

Hi Guys,
Require some technical assistance. Have purchased Apple Macpro during the weekend and I am not sure how to install MT4 on this machine. Googled "How to ...." and it seems that either I can go down the VMWare fusion ( paid software) route or I can install Windows (already have a licensed copy) with Bootcamp assistant (in this case no need to spend additional money) and then install MT4.
Does anyone have any experience in this matter. Your guidance will be highly appreciated.

PS Though it is purely technical...
As far as I know there is no MT4 for mac's. If you install Bootcamp, that will let you to install windows. But to use windows, you will have to boot to the windows partition. With VMware or Parallels Desktop software, you can open the windows OS in a window within the Mac's OS. That way you can use both operating systems, and when you are done with windows, you just close the window.

Hi novice

There is another way to use metatrader 4 with crossover a windows emulator. But only for metatrader build 218. I´m using it with my mac and it works good.
