Yes, but you would think that there is no chance for price to freeze on a platform where people are trading real money, but it happened. Clearly something was wrong with your broker at the time and I wouldn't have been surprised if your order was triggered at the high, even though the quote was different.

All I'm saying is be careful. Especially if your going to place an order with MAXIMUM lot size possible for your account (which isn't even recommended in any scenario)

is my PPZ alright? how do i differentiate minor and major PPZ? cus i seem to have a few PPZ.

Your PPZs are fine, that is not a lot at all. That is more then ok.

As for your order, yes it is way to far above the pinbar and right at your FTA. Instead you want to use some sort of buffer. In the 10-20 pip range(again varies depending on pair/trader), this way you have some room to work with. If you execute your buy there then you are executing right on the area where price is likely to bounce and the pin then has gone on to do its thing.

Morning guys, am pretty new here, pick up alittle bit on Pin Bars here and there, below is a pin bar on a weekly time frame I notice a failed pin bar and would like to ask for advise if that is even a pin bar in the first place and perhaps why this one failed for a reversal. It has no traffic and is moving on an uptrend. Thanks.

the horizontal line on the chart are PPZ.

am i right to say that yellow are the major ones and red are the minor ones?

okay. so your saying that i put my buy order somewhere between that FTA and the high of PB?

Besides forex pairs there's only a bunch of CFDs and gold & silver.
right click on one of the pairs and then click 'Show all' Then you should have all the pairs including with all the CFDs, stocks and etc., etc.

there's an inside bar. and i'm looking to place my buy stop and sell stop at the red horizontal line. is it alright?

the inside bar is at the daily and 4H ppz and also on the 23.6fib.

what do you guys think?

I always place my order above the high of the pin.

Generally I use a buffer something like(depending on the pair and don't forget this doesn't include spread).

Weekly 15-25
Daily 12-20
4hr 10-15
1hr - 5-10

This is a rough buffer list for me personally. Others put it just a pip or 2 above. Again that is all stuff you have to see what feels most comfortable like everything

alright. i've taken it down. at least now i have something to try out and fine tune it to suit me. anyway, does jim have more video on PPZ on the website? i looked at two just wondering if there's anymore.

Basically all videos will involve them since they are pretty core to what we do, so all his webinars for sure. But check out his where is pricing going series in the forum, that is top notch stuff

alright. i haven't really explore the forum. will do soon!

can i clarify something...

for example i'm on the weekly chart. am i right to say that the PPZ on the weekly are major PPZ, then i scroll down to daily and the PPZ are minor compared to those weekly PPZ.

or

if i'm on the daily chart, those PPZ on the daily are majors and those PPZ on the 4H, when i scroll down , are minors.

can i separate major and minor PPZ like that?

go to the member area under James16.. under introduction videos.. there's one intro to pivot zone and pivot zone.
reference daily PB's....I thought you have said or inferred that you don't necessarily trade asian session or you trade 11pm-1pm est due to the lack of liquidity and personally I am very hesitant to trade the asian session due to liquidity but often I do...with that said if you see a daily PB which would start at 5PM est. ....at what time would you initiate the trade...i.e not til the later....say just prior to London....u know often I see inactivity til then or thereabouts....I guess I could ask the same question for any other signal bars(let's assume the location and confluences support the signal)

Hey Liu, what's up.

It is a valid pin bar that failed. This happens and nothing is 100%.

With practice you'll start to notice where traffic is and zones (PPZ's) will jump out at you when you look to the left of the bar. You'll also learn about quality pin bars versus "weak" pin bars. Location is king, etc.

In regards to this pin bar. It's weak to me because the close was almost half-way up the bar. Ideally, it should be in the bottom third of the bar for shorts. Compared to the prior 4-5 bars, it's kind of too small to reverse the momentum. Also, I highlighted possible areas of traffic(see attached) that could affect the follow through on the break of these pins (FTA's). Finally, the fact that it failed to close below the round number (1.1500 ) also would have kept me on the sidelines.

alright. i think i'm trying to be too clever here. i tried to do what Jim does after watching one of the video on PPZ, and got myself into a real mess.

i tried to follow him, which obviously failed.. BIG TIME!

i pop up a chart. started from monthly(red line), got all the PPZ i can find.
then down to weekly(orange line), do the same thing.
goes down to the daily(yellow), and repeat it.
finally to the 4 hour(white), and did like before.

i went back to the daily chart and BOOM! i get this. really messy stuff. although the white lines(4H) shows clearly where my FTA will be, it's messy. can someone help me with this?
