I suspect you are correct, as the Gain feed is freely available, and often used... even NT has it.

If I didn't like MBT so much I would use Sierra with IB.

sorry,
yes the transac i was using for stocks.
sierra has there own feed for forex included with the chart packages.
making green pips large and red pips small this is my goal.

Why is it that I must always haul out a sledge hammer when dealing with MB Trading???

I have an issue again.......I have signed up for your 'free' Black Box VPS hosting. Just over a month ago I upgraded to the $70 package. Since then I have not been re-imbursed for the $70 fee as per our agreement.

Now communication glitches happen.....so I opened a support ticket, which for the last 6 days has not been answered. this is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. I have given you guys over $4000 in commissions in the last year.....one would think that you would at least have the courtesy to answer your support tickets.

I even prompted your people on chat a couple of nights ago, and still nothing. Your customer service is nothing less than atrocious.

Now, are you guys going to live up to your agreement or are you going continue ignoring me?

I just logged into our system to have a look. Your ticket was replied to on Thursday. The reply includes questions back plus details about how to get these situations handled quickly if needed. Understand that on the reimbursements, if Photon didn’t specify to us that you upgraded to a different level and if you didn’t tell us (use the email in the response to your ticket to do that in the future), then there’s no way that we would have known, thus the reason that you were still credited the usual amount prior to this month.

That aside, however, it doesn’t appear that we’re going to “continuing ignoring” you since we weren’t in the first place.

Also, separate from the email and opening tickets, you can get immediate responses to all of these things (could have been wrapped up six days ago) by using the on-line chat on the Contact page of the site or by calling in. The most common way that customers contact us is via on-line chat and everything is handled right then and there.

Thanks for you response......and I do apologise for my tone. I just get so annoyed at wasting my life chasing housekeeping matters of things that breakdown. Now that said............

I know full well that communication breakdowns occur......of course you would not have known if photon didn't tell you. I have a problem with your company's lack of response to my ticket.

Attached is a screenshot of the ticket and shows the sum total of everything I can see about this ticket. Perhaps there is a response in there somewhere, but I don't see it......I dunno, maybe I'm just stupid, but I would have thought that when I click on an open ticket, I would get to see the ticket and a response.

Better just get Chris to email me direct because your secure ticketing system is weak at best.

Furthermore, I did contact chat and nothing was resolved. The ticket looks exactly the same today as it did before chat. The guy on chat simply promised to chase it up......there was no attempt to try and rectify the issue there and then.

Hello, am demoing with ninja platform and realised that when i log out nothing gets executed.
surely my computer doesnt need to be logged in permanently while i have open positions?
Can anyone throw some light on this for me.
If a trend continues I'd like to leave my positions on till it reverse
thankyou.

I believe that when you are using Ninjatrader demo version, it cant send real orders to the MBTrading, even if the mbtrader side was only a demo too. With that i mean, you are still trading only inside the Ninjatrader's "Sim01" account. Somebody can correct me if i am wrong.

I believe that is correct.

Are you using NT7 or NT6.5?

NT7 in public beta since April, but quite stable, has a big improvement over 6.5, in that it has facility for handling History Data. MB has a limited amount of History data available and accessible to NT7, which it will use to backfill any missing data since the last time NT7 was run. You can see what's available at:

under the "Understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider" tab.

While NT7 is running and charting, it will save the data to the local machine, and backfill gaps with the history data MB provides on re-startup.

This is a HUGE improvement over NT6.5, which could not be backfilled without paying eSignal for data.

However, the free History Data provded by MB is limited, and intended to just fill in a gap while NT was down on your machine.

So, you really should have NT7 running on your machine 24hrs a day from Sunday's opening to Friday's close, unless you are paying a data provider like eSignal or Kinetick, who have 30 days backfill data available.

My experience with MB over the years I have traded with them is that they are very interested in and respond with improvements to customers wants and wishes..... sometimes not as fast as we would like, but they do make the changes. If you read back far enough on tis thread you'll see one such instance when they moved the rollover time.

I suspect that the new NT7 will become very popular, because it is a great platform. It is certainly usable now with the data MB is currently provideing, but maybe if enough people ask for it they will provide a longer window of backfill history data....Kinetick provides 30 days worth, so it must be possible. I would also like to see history data available as tick on the Bid and Ask as well. NT can build any kind of bar from that data.

So, you need to leave NT running all the time anyway. NT7 will run with several charts open and indicators calculating in a very small footprint. I have been doing it with no problems for a couple weeks now, and use my not so up to date machine for many other tasks at the same time, including watching streaming TV.

I have made it a practice to do a reboot around rollover time everyday just incase, and the MB data backfills just perfectly.

You're welcome. and I agree with you, the proper price ladder and advanced trade management the paid version NT7 offers are FANTASTIC!!!! A great user interface!!

If I were running MB, I would move Desktop into retirement, and concentrate on migrating all customers to NT7, now that the History Data problem has been resolved. They must spend truckloads of money on IT developing and maintaining their own software that would be better utilized using an off the shelf program.

NT is very popular in the futures world, where some brokers offer the full platform for free to active traders, and pass on the NT fee for the full version to less active traders. Everyone has access to the free, charting, backtesting, system developement version. I would like MB to adopt this model.

Much time and effort was put into fitting a square peg into a round hole with the MT4 conversion from what MT4 really was designed to be.... a platform for deal desks to run the Virtual Dealer Plugin and rip off their customers. The only thing MT4 offers traders is a language and automated trading..... something that is also available in NT, but with a better implementation.

I'll like to clarify, the MT4 order expiry has been disabled? My EA places limit orders with expiry, and they all churn out ordersend errors. It is going to be very troublesome if I had to re-code and put an internal timer and then cancel the pending order when the time is up. Can MBT fix this please?

Justin, have you heard about the CFTC final decision of 50:1 leverage, effective 10/18/2010? I recall you talking about MBT registering overseas...could you please update us on the status of this?

Ditto here. I was in the process of opening an account for my father, but I think I'm gonna wait and see what the impact will be.

I think when you open the account for your father anywhere, you need to come to terms with the fact that the Forex world is going to be 50:1 anywhere shortly, and the firms that will still offer higher leverage will be in a country where you probably don't want to send your money if you want it back.

I was hoping that you would shed a bit more light on the whole situation.
At this moment I have no idea what impact this may have. Thats why I am waiting. Don't like making uninformed decisions.

At this time, the only change is that maximum leverage for customers will be 50:1 instead of 100:1 starting October 20. We are very pleased with this result as the original proposal was 10:1, and we thank the CFTC for listening to the overwhelming comments by traders and the public on this matter. Only a small percentage of accounts typically trade at leverage above 50:1, so we do not feel as if this is restrictive at all to the majority of our traders.
