This 'volume' display apparently is a source of much confusion. Probably should be done away with, or renamed to Tick-Volume or similar.

You can add volume to your charts in the MBT MetaTrader platform, and it seems to update just fine. Since it uses the same data stream as Navigator, it should correlate with your Nav trading. I know it does not truly address your problem, but it might be a stopgap solution for you. I trade using Nav while watching MetaTrader charts.

I’d like to thank MB Trading for the last two updates to their MT4 bridge. Blows away Boston Technologies. It has been working perfectly for weeks now. The last issue on 6/16, which seems unrelated to the system itself, was a blip, but I have now been running my EAs successfully for a while without a problem. It appears that these last few updates that you have put out have really improved the system. I really think your system has been fairly stable now since about April, but definitely since the 6/16 issue, and even moreso since you did the last few updates that you emailed about. It really is exactly what a trader should want out of MT4.

Now if you could just fix your Demo environment so I could test some other EAs that I am working on…that would be great.

The spread column in the watchlist of web Navigator doesn't work, is always 0.00, may you fix it?

Also, I wonder where can I see the average spread of all currency pairs for the last week or month.

I have been with MB Trading for about 3 years now and I think it has been one of the best decisions that I have made with my FX trading. It took me a while to get used to their platform but I got that all down before going live and the improvements that they have made sense then have been great. I have no plans of going anywhere else and I think you made a good choice.

In the open positions window can you show individual entries and exit specific positions on same currency pair
Just opened live account an getting used to platform on demo.

To begin with get the Demo down first before trading live.

No, it's an ECN, they average your trades. It's not like MT4.

Hello, been trying demo the platform but it crashed 4 times today at the moment got trades that wont close. The support chat wont work from inside platform. shut it down contacted live support he said he couldnt enter trades either and then told me to phone there tec support at my own cost to to get the issue resolved said phone call would be standard rates,dont know what they are but could get quite expensive talking through a tec issue from britain to america.
Must say with real money on the line I would hate to think how i'd feel.
I may have phoned but since he from head office couldnt make trades didnt think the issue was my end.
when i asked if others were having same trouble he didnt answer just repeated phone us up.
After peoples comments thought they would be best choice but not sure now.

I did demo on ninja trader with mb feed the platform great and customer service was very quick and helpful. but no chart feed from mbtrading.
may have move on.

Thanks for the well wish Astroman.

Knowing that I'm with a dependable broker erases all my fear over this Boston Tech plug-in. My anxiety on all other "dirty tricks" most brokers employ on newbie traders vanished into thin air as well.

90-95% of beginners loss.
A broker cheating on you is certainly most unwelcome.

Would like to trade with the broker but the platform has been buggy for me.
Please let me know your views as it may be worth paying for the ninja platform.
making green pips large and red pips small this is my goal.

NT7 beta is in public release and I am using it for charting, as I hate the Navigator (Desktop) charting. NT7 has facilities for History Data.... you need that to backfill your charts... that NT6.5 lacks.

I have not used NT for order entry and management. I don't think I will as NT is free for charting, but has a monthly fee for order placement/management through the NT platform. That's just my preference though.

NT7 looks very promising, as it has a proper price ladder, which is the other thing I hate about Navigator. It has a great scripting language, and you can always drop down into c#/.net if you wanted to get serious programming. The potential exists for automated trading, but that doesn't interest me.

I'm surprised you are having such problems with Navigator. I use it everyday, and have not had any issues. You should be running MBT Navigator Pro Version 1.1.0.7. (Desktop Pro)

The only issue I have is with the live chat feature, but that is on my end because it wants to use Java in a way I won't allow. Since I won't give it the permissions it wants, it doesn't work.... I imagine that is your problem as well.



****EDIT**** I should add that if you try out NT6.5 or 7, it will require you to use a special version of Navigator. I may or may not have been able to get it to chart only (no order entry) without the special version of Navigator, but I have been through many configurations and won't swear by it. You get that version of Nav on the NT install page.

At this point I am running NT with data I get from a paid source for charting only, and run Nav Pro for order entry/management.

Try eSignal On Demand(Forex), $45.00 a month, first month is a buck, integrated trading, easy to code, etc. It also gives you delayed quotes for a lot of other products other than forex.
You'll be impressed!

I tried the FREE version and thought it sucked a bit, but from what I've heard the paid version is far better.

Just out of curiosity, if you're using NT for charts, why are you using Desktop Pro instead of the more CPU friendly Desktop?

Gee... I don't have much of a processor... two year old dual core, but I run Desktop Pro... its a more polished product.... NT7 running six or seven charts with custom indicators... streaming CNBC and sometimes streaming Bloomberg... a browser, MS Office, Vonage all at the same time, and I don't have any CPU usage issues...

I am running 4 megs of RAM and 2 Megs of Video RAM.

I think the ninja platform order entry on the ladder is a lot quicker and more straight forward to execute.
Does the 2 seperate feeds always match closely I noticed my transact feed with sierra charts and mbtrading feed on there charts seemed to vary a few pips especially in asian session.
have you ever noticed this with your feed

I'm not familiar with Sierra Charts, so I don't know what feed you are getting with it. Remember that Spot FX has no centralized exchange.

Spot FX has pools of liquidity that you access through your broker. The feed you are getting or seeing in Sierra Charts maybe a different pool from MBTX, the pool that you access through your MB Trading Account. Each pool will have prices that are very close, but as they are completely independant of each other, they won't be exactly the same.

If you use eSignal for data.... not that you should, just to explain this point, you can select to chart from various pools, MBTX being one of them, or you can combine all the pools that eSignal carries into a composite feed...

I am experimenting with volume based indicators, and have chosen to chart the 6E futures contract, as that has real volume data, and spot FX does not. That, for me, is the only reason to pay for data.

Seeing as Transact doesn't offer forex, I would presume that he's using either FXCM or Gain for his feed. That was the problem I had when using Sierra, prices were frequently out by a few pips in comparison to MBT.
