Been awhile since I posted, with all the reading and studying of the earlier parts of the thread, just thought I'd post a recent trade that was exited through the night while I slept. Entered a few pips below the SS of the 19th, placed my stop, and put in a target of 7030, as I seen it as being a reaction area. I had a second order that I entered to trail it should it start trending south, but I screwed that one up when I entered it and didn't realize it until I was already in. New platform, but still my error. This was only an ATM trade, both the BB and B are kind of ranging at the moment and I seen a few pips here with low stress and relatively low risk.

Dear Strat,

My comment was simply a flash back to a discussion between you and Alexandra, in post 10996, when a similar pattern occurred, hence the terminology farmyard tools.

Alexandra, no wellies for me here since I am not confident in trading inside the MA's.

Sounds like a plan to me.

I hadnt planned on posting analysis until I was longer into the thread - but a sense check could well be in order.

Now the market has closed - wouldnt look before NY close ;-) then I will grab a few charts and post over the weekend.

Looking forward to moving onwards and upwards - and occasionaly getting one over on the Queen - as the actress said!

You really should lighten up a bit - you can’t dismiss everyone like that – we probly all fit one of those descriptions at some stage in our development - lol.

Anyway……….

Lurkers – This is how most of us began our foray into FX and it takes time to sort the wheat from the chaff until we settle on our own style.

Trolls – Trolling is not necessarily always bad – it shakes us out of our complacency sometimes.

Free lunchers – Like lurkers they are always around and we all like a free lunch, but it takes us a while to realise that there is no such thing.

Wankers – I assume you mean this in the purely hypothetical sense and are actually referring to ppl who pretend to know what they are doing, but are actually scammers or charlatans. I agree there are quite a few around here but most ppl with an IQ can soon identify them.

Know it alls – Whats the saying – employ a teenager while they still know it all – most of the ppl on FF are kids and they do know it all, but its only a phase they go thru - lol.

Thread hoppers – See 1 – this is how most of us start until we eliminate the c**p, but it takes time. It took me nearly 3 years to realise that most of the threads on FF are actually not worth reading. But I did pick up lots of titbits along the way from some great traders, it just took me a long time to identify the good stuff.

BTW - I'm not being critical - just philosophical on a boring Saturday morning.

Yes, I think that is a possibility. I am not going to delve into initiating longs here, given that it contradicts some of the specifics for initiating a position under the guidelines of this thread, but I do wish to warn those who are short that this may represent a point to tighten stops. Many are looking for a waterfall if the Yen strengthens past this point. Technically, we have pointed out that case for many months given the large monthly triangle that was broken and retested, but fundamentally I have argued against it. Personally, I bought 85.30 given my interpretation of the weekly and daily charts against the monthly levels on Friday.

Hi all
Just thought id drop in and say i will be hanging around and hopefully taking my understanding of Strat's method to a more profitable level.

I will post as and when i feel i can contribute/help/ or cry for help. lol

In the meam time does anyone know if i can draw different colour and depth horizontal lines on the MT4 platform?
I have been using the obvious red lines till now but would like to distiguish between major and more minor resistance.

Hi Strat

I was going to post a chart with analysis for a trade for next week - but I have checked through 17 FX pairs, Gold, Silver and 5 Indexes and cant find anything I like that much.

I am at this stage looking for hammers and shooting stars only, and the closest I could find was a hammer on AUDUSD as price bounces up from the Worker 50 and confluence with BOSS 20 and 61.8Fib of the most recent up move.

The BIG BOSS is a little indecisive and close to recent major highs and significant resistance.

The BOSS is looking like sideways range in formation with a lot of resistance at about .9380 and support at .8790 area. Recent price looks bearish and volume is falling.

One could place an order above the hammer at say .8955 with a stop below the hammer at .8824 so risk 131 which would be within risk tolerance target 1 could be .9189 - the previous swing high and target 2 .9375 below major resistance so reward 234 at T1 or 420 at T2. So risk and reward OK but here is why this is a no trade to me.

To my novice eyes - BIG BOSS and BOSS are indecisive and too close to major resistance.

I would be trading direct into WORKER 20 and BOSS 50 and major Pscyhe level at .9000.

So nice PA but not nice hurdles to go long.

What do you make of this novice analysis? My one concern with my chart is the S&R levels.
