Start at your bank, the FSA and the SFO. The more agencies worldwide know about this the better any of you guys' chances are of at least finding this guy.

Why is everybody convinced that Jacko actually resides in HK.

Fine that he has a Bank Account in HK but that does not mean he lives there. This fact I can guarantee 100%.

This guy could be anywhere in the world.

As for tracking the money, well good luck. If he intended to steal peoples money then all he would have to do is have one FX trading account linked to the HK bank account and another FX trading account with a different broker Linked to a personal account in a tax friendly country.

Next move is just to take oposite trades and funnel money from one account to another.

No trace. All you need to do this is a PO box, false passport, bank account and an FX trading account. Done.

I have to say I am baffled as to why jcko continues to post in his blog but has abandoned all other communication? I mean hell he surely knows the gig is up and everybody is onto him....... I just don't get it.

I could care less if he lives in HK, in Bahamas, or next to my home, I want only to have back my money so I have to base only on pure fact, and one fact for sure is that his bank account is from HK HSBC bank, so we had to contact HK local police or a lawyer in HK to act accordingly to at least freeze his account.

I doubt thats the case. There are members active on this forum who dont visit the commercial section (well, who in their right mind would ?), who are still unaware of events.

I suppose by definition, the least well informed who arent aware are the best targets anyway for this kind of fraud, and its no effort to write a few lines of nonsense to update a blog. He may even be paying someone to do it anyway, its simple enough to copy and paste a few bits of blurb from financial sites..

You might as well keep up the pretense, it takes no effort

thats the bit I dont get. All the investors reading his blog are going to do that then realise something is up

no update today and it hasnt been updated in detail for a long while, used to be 3 times a day, now only once or twice, maybe not him

if he wanted to keep it hush, he would not have mentioned he was returning funds.... unless he wanted people to realise it was a scam...

No, he just wanted to buy some time, cash in and dissapear to a locale with no extradiction treaty with HK/US/UK

so why bother to ask investors to foward bank details so he can return funds? If he carries on as normal, that gives him more time. Unless people have been asking for money back (as this is his 'first losing quarter') and he thought doing it this way would give him more time

if buying time is what he wanted, why would he tell people he was returning funds? i would think if he didn't say anything about closing the fund, he'd have at least a few more months...

Because he kept falling behind on his quarterly dividends and investors were starting to ask questions. That is what did Madoff in at the end, he could not finance the redemptions anymore so had to come clean. That is exactly what catches out every Ponzi at the end, the redemptions get too large for the scammers liking and he wants some left for himself.

Why are you assuming that he is or ever was in HK...Just b/c he had a bank account there does not mean that he was there or is there...If he said HK then more likely he did not operate out of HK.

I know of some investors from Australia, UK, etc...did he have a lot of U.S. based investors? Did he refused a lot of U.S. investors?

maybe some investors became suspicious and were demanding withdrawal, so he had to set a date when he would send out the money to keep those people waiting a little more to get more time.

I was doing a little bit of thinking.......its starting to sound more and more like he was operating a ponzi scheme. His new capital for "fund management" probably dried up, that's why he stopped responding to emails and "accepting new students"......they all come to an end.
