DislikedNo momentum once again.
Maybe we must wait for a 8pip candle out of traffic like the old method ?Ignored
This type of method relies on the 'big players' taking price quickly away from your entry and then keep buying or selling (i.e in the same direction) so price never looks back.
Now this is not going to happen all the time, if there has been no news, if there is indecision in the market etc etc. It's not a method that is going to give you winner after winner, but when you do get a big winner it is huge.
The key to success in this method is to ensure you keep losses to a minimum, moving SL to 0SL fairly quickly.
Thus you should get lots of BE trades, few losses then a huge winner. I can't back test so I do not know how frequent a winner can occur...you could get an idea by looking at a 1minute chart on MT4 to see how often at London and NY open price is taken off in one direction an continued for 100 or so pips...that will give you a rough idea.
I would estimate that you would on average have BE trades 70% of the time, 20% losers and 10% winners.. (maybe Tony can comment on frequency of winners from past experience?), it's a rough guess to illustrate that the 140pips winner will be few but if you manage the trade right and get to 0SL promptly this method should work over a period...it just requires patience.
The way I look at this method is that it takes a couple of minutes a day max to do 2 entries...you're either out for a loss or BE very quickly or you're at 0SL and and a TP or TSL etc set and you get on with what else you do during the day...and once in a while you'll get a nice 70R winner...but you gotta be patient...there was a 100pip winner Monday and with a bit of knowledge you could have expected price to stall at 1.3000 area, since then I think most people had 1 or maybe 2 max losses and the rest BE...that fits with the profile I mentioned above and an extremely profitable week for most.
Now Monday London open represents good opportunities as traders are coming back from a 2 day break so there is a higher chance of bigger initial momentum moves...and look at today...we had European Bank Stress Results after European close...something to move the market at Frankfurt or London open I reckon?!
If I got 1 winner a month I'd be pretty damn happy with this method let alone 1 winner a week.
One thing to look out for is if there is news out the same time as London or NY open...Oanda increase their spreads to 1.8 or 3 quite commonly on EU at news times...so you gotta bear this in mind and make adjustments.
