But was never patient enough to play this out ... with my current lazy-style I might go back using this. maybe combined with S/R or Pivots +S +R...
That's cool. I am throwing it up on my charts to have a look. So far it works really really well with the EU H4

try it with some yen crosses. Those pairs trend really nicely and should be very condusive to that strategy.

A/U...
Daily shows PA almost to the bottom of the 200sma.
H4 shows the orange 200sma from the Daily chart as well as the Fib extensions that create a bit of confluence with the MA.

Since I don't trade between 4 and 5 pm est this is a good chance to wait and let the Daily S/R pivs reset and hopefully one of them ends up right in the middle of the confluence area I'm looking at to short this pair!

Ya. lookin back in the charts it doesn't look too bad and seems to work out on some pairs.
If it works out and really indicates and confirms a trend the Reward can be sweet.
To make it a real strategy there should be some clear rules for a SL in the first place. Might require a bigger SL as it does sometimes retrace directly after the cross...
I think that's what made me stop using it (as I was still using much too big lotsizes for my small account back then.) but with a proper moneyManagement RRR can still be reasonable.

Take a look at EU on the daily. doesn't cross too often there... and we just had a cross to the upside this week.
False or real.. ?! Fundamentally I am not sure if /why we are ready for another long term bull run (up to now I am still bearish biased...)
But we will see

You know that MA's are a large part of my trading... here's a cross happening on A/U right now with the 21ema and 35sma.

lots of opportunities to use them. with different periods. Simple, Exp., ..,
Can be pretty confusing. So I think you need to find the ones working for you and keep to them (think you do)

Results of the bank stress-test tomorrow might bring us some direction. (at least I hope so..)

Amy, I saw on your thread that you are looking at 8915 as a place to possibly go long on A/U. I will be joining you but we may get a better price if it decides to make its way down to DP. Ideally I would like to take the long up against the 150ema...wherever it is when PA hits it. Hopefully this trade retires the both of us!

Hi Marc

That is a possibility, that would be an 80 pip retrace, but if that happens I will probably wait to buy on Monday. The reason being the position of the S&P. It has completed its move from green lows back to green highs so therefore Friday could be a move back to the midpoint which would probably cause au to consolidate then move higher on Monday. Currently though it looks like we will be lucky to even get 8915. If the S&P is above 1091 at midnight NY time then up it goes again on Friday.

Ohh I don't know. Maybe we'll get 9000 out of it. I'll just let it run and keep moving my S/L up as we go. S/L right now is 8850. The chance of hitting DP at this point is slim to none since the 150ema is right on it and continues to move higher as the candles pass. We most always get 2 to 3 good bounces off of the 150 and we haven't gotten one yet so we should be good to go for a while.
