I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with my work load.

I hope to be back to my charts in ernest soon.

In the mean time I have been redoing how I will be keeping my personal trade journal. It is coming along nicely. I am going to make it somewhat fun to do.

One thing I will be adding to it is sort of a diary of what I have been doing or thinking about. As I know this has an effect on my trading. In the past all has been written out on papper and it just gets to be piles of nonsense that I never refer back to. This will be informative to me now and in the future. Also I want to be able to use it to show my son and daughter if they decide to trade. It would be kind of a text book for them.

I just ordered "Forex Patterns and Probabilities" By Ed Ponsi. Really looking forward to reading through it.

Hope your trading is going well.

The work is just about caught up. One day off in the last forty. As I see it right now, it will be right around the first of August when I will get some consistent time off.

So till then I have been doing a lot of chart watching. I have come to the realization that my trading suffers if I do it while I am working so much. Actually both suffer.

I am always reading and studying things to help out my trading. Right now it is "As a Man Thinketh"

A man's mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but
whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will,

bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an

abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind


So if we harbor thoughts of failure or fear of any kind. We are nurturing this to grow stronger in our minds. The longer it grows the harder it becomes to root out. So for me anything that does not promote pure thoughts for life I endeavor to root it out. Music art etc is all held subject to "How will this affect my mind"


Back to the book.

Man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believes himself to be the creature of outside conditions, but
when he realizes that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being
out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes the rightful master of himself.

That circumstances

Why is mt MT4 doing this?

Its fixed. Lost all my profiles and templates in the process though.

The whole thing was wierd though. It started when MT4 tried to update to the newer version. My firewall was allowing some things through and not others. For some reason the AU was loaded but not EU or GU. Maybe the Euro and Pound are sick .

Oh well, I get to set up everything fresh, kind of nice in one regard. Makes me rethink all I have been doing.

My book by Ed Ponsi… Forex Patterns and Probabilities…. Came in today. I have already started reading it. It is encouraging to me just how much I already know. But I have decided to read it cover to cover anyway. I am reminded of the great golfer Jack Nicolas, who every year would have his golfing coach teach him the swing and the game. Starting as if he had never played golf before. Getting back to the basics is something we all can learn from. It helps us to keep it simple.


Back to the book. I am looking forward to getting into its depths and working it in detail.

I also have been reading a lot in “As A Man Thinketh” Today I was looking at the importance of having a vision of where I want to be in the days ahead


“Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals; Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.”

Again it shows the importance of how we tend to our mind. What am I feeding it. What am I doing to build the vision I carry about myself or my family. Every day we are either building or tearing down, I don’t believe there is a status quo.

This of course reminds me of Yogi Berra

You just know the goal Yogi had while at the plate. Not only was he a great ball player but also a great man. By the way. A side note here. Years ago while in an airport My Grandfather ran into The Yankee baseball team. On the back of a picture of my Dad pitching he got the autographs of… Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle, and Elston Howard. One of my favorite things.

My charts are all setup and back to running order again. I am still unsure what happened to everything. But it was to no loss. To tell you the truth it did me good to set them all back up again. Did a bit of simplifying.

I guess that is enough. I don’t think I will get in any trading again next week. Still working 7 days a week till I get caught up. Put that with the endless supply of paper work I have to do and it distracts me to much for trading with the precision of a surgeon.

It has been tough to sit here in the mornings drinking my coffee and seeing setups and not take the trade.

If I am getting ready for work. Making my lunch, phone calls, planning my day, etc. Then I am to busy to sit here and "casually" trade.

This had been a nemisis of mine. One of my general trading rules is that trading is a business. I treat it as one. Giving it at least the same amount of oversight that I give my "day job" of trimming houses.

1. All trades recorded in my personal trade journal. Including screen shots and comments. ( I have a personal journal and this one on FF)

2. The currency pairs I am looking at have all the S/R , S/D, trendlines, PPA marked...

3 NO OUTSIDE DISTRACTIONS. I determine what takes my mind off the job at hand.

If I let any of these things slide.... It would be like me going to work without glue for my mitre joints. Or like not having half my tools.

So alas I watch the chart while making my lunch. Watch the PA. Lately I have been seeing the effects of Ken's thread in my watching. PPA lines are an early warning system to me to take notice.

Ah well, just some thoughts. first of August I will be back to my trading. THEN August 8-13 I have the house to myself. Family in Minnesota and Alaska. SOOOO Forex trading party at my house.:nerd:

I am starting to set up charts for the week ahead..
　
The EURUSD is sitting right on 38.2 fib drawn on the weekly chart. If we get a strong reversal here I am expecting it to drop to the 161.6 . This would put the Euro under parity with the USD.

There is a lot of resistance above price right now as well. Any poor news out of Europe could send this tanking hard.

I have to get ready for a BBQ over at some friends house and hope to have enough time to complete my analysis of the other currency pairs tonight and tomorrow morning.

Now for the GU

We could be in the midst of a bankers reversal with targets at the 100 and 127 fib level. So I will be keeping an eye open for this. I am not going to commit a bias for any currency anymore as this tends to keep me with a one sided tendency when it comes to trading. Instead I will keep with the Daily our Hourly trends depending on what time frame I enter on.

Well that just rocketed out of there. Stops moved to break even. I am going to kick back now and have a drink and then go to bed. 12:30 am here.

The last two targets are 5790 and 5824.

Right now my goal is one good trade locked into profit (30 pips) each trading session. Then to increase my account by 5% each week. 15% month.

Now for the USDJPY.

The Yen is in a precarious position right now. If it breaks through this low you have to go to 1994 to find the next S/R level. It would be a freefall at that point. These economies right now just suck.

The positioning for this one was last night after I went to bed. The only way I will take a short now is on a retest of the “Line in The Sand”

All seems quiet right now. I will take an entry durring the first two hours or so of the Asian session if I get a pull back to a key fib level or pivot. Otherwise it will be London for me.

I will share this can with you. There's plenty to go around.

I need to find a quiet place to trade. Right now I am set up in the corner of the living/ dinning area of the house. So if there is any activity in the house I am a part of it by default. My daughter is home from college and likes to stay up late doing things. Then while I was trying to take a nap before Tokyo opened I got 4 phone calls. So with all this I thought my better plan was to go to bed early and hit it the next night. Needless to say I missed my beautiful entry. Ah well get another tomorrow, there is always more.

Once Lesli goes back to school I will set up shop in her room. My ultimate goal is to convert a 12’ x 24’ area in the barn into my private office/ trading area. Those of you that grew up with “Mr. Ed” will get a kick out of this. I will also have an access door that goes to my horses stall so he can stick his head through and watch what I am up to. His name is Buddy. He is not much for Forex advice but he is great to talk to. Two willing ears and a friendly disposition. I call him a 1500 lb black lab. Buddy is a Draft/Paint cross.

Back to the office. This thing will be complete with a small bed, living area, and kitchenette. If I am not careful my wife wouldn’t see me from Sunday night to Thursday night. As for my trading area, I am looking forward to doing this with more than one monitor. My thinking is 6. If I start trading for other people set up another trading station
right there with 6 more.

Some of the goals/vision I have for what I am doing. Being a carpenter by trade I will be able to put all this in somewhat inexpensively. I am looking forward to it. I will be missing a lot fewer of these.
