Robert and Don have already worked out the good code. remaining job is for us to test it. In order to be able to test it, we need the same settings, so we do not compare apple with pears.

what I can help is trying to backtest it, (maybe the samir rule need to be modified in order to be able to backtest it.) But I will do this during weekend, as I said before.

For the offline charts, I am reworking on it. goal is to be able to run the trendmagic on the combined pair of busket charts instead of GBPJPY.

What we need to improve it?
1) exit.
we need the rule to trail the takeprofits for this EA and kill orders on takeprofits. This part need you guys help. now we have trail stoploss already. For exemple, Takeprofits on fibnacci level of early swing High Low range.

1) you are the strategy developer, you defined the rule.
2) you check the performance of the ea against your rule and following up with screen short, very very nice. This gives coder understanding of the rules and see how the rules capture the market.

when we have this Kos EA works all according to the rules, then we can developing the a-samir part of rule, that is the ranking of the busket pairs.

This picture is made by signature Tallman, but he is not publishing his code yet. we can just simply modify the T101-Dashboard_zz-don, and make it to show this picture on the MT4 for us. you can find the indicator T101-Dashboard_zz-don in the archive of this thread.Once we have this picture, we can develope the ranking for the basket pairs, to developing the a-samire part of rule.

We do not need more indicator part of rules, we have MACD, Trendmagic, and MAcross that is enough already.

first the bad news. i kept running version E and when i wake up this morning and checked i was logged off from Ikon trader because you can only use demo account for 1 month. and last night was the end of that.

this morning i added version E again from a different broker. at the moment i added it started doing the 12 sells and 2 buys. at this moment that i am typing this i am -300 pips.

i think personally it is very important that the first time the EA is added to the chart it wont do direct sells or buys. since you jump in maybe at the end before the signals will change and you make a huge loss.

anyway i will sign up asap on mti.com and have it run.

however just before i do that. i like to make sure i use the right settings.

so please Kos. if you got the time, please give us the rules under which you want us to test it.

like m15/m30/1h/4h ? profitbasket on off etc, which pair setting.

and also which metatrader provider you want us to test it. you use aaspari uk? maybe we can use different ones. as you said because of GMT +3 differences.

but finimej how you want to have it shown everything of 1 day on 1 screen is beyond me.

the indi shows only a few hours on the chart. and it shows the chart from right to left. if it was from left to right. we could actually scroll backwards and see more time frames.

Hi guys, i've only just found my way to this thread this week and am still trying to gain a working understanding of it.

At the risk of being scorned, could I suggest an option to take only 1 trade per signal, from my limited testing of it, the first trade is good, the subsequent trades become increasingly higher risk.

as you see today , it aint going so well.

it started with the sells which entered the stoploss. after that signal changed to buy and had 2 wins of 50 pips.

third trade is at the moment in the -100 pips.

using 1 hour template. .10 lots as you can see. using basketprofit

I see that since you are watching H4 timeframe as well as H1, you are putting precedence of H4 over H1, and saying a signal on H4 would possibly get us out of a trade on the H1. At this time, this EA only takes one timeframe into account at a time, and will only trade based on signals on this chart. Could it be written to take H4 (primary) and H1 (secondary) into account? Well, we now have a rule that would take us from H1 to H4 (entry on H4 overrides H1). How would you take it back from H4 to H1? You have said "H4 is ranging, so I dropped down to H1". What would be use to tell ranging on H4, to move to H1? ADX below 20-25? I'm not saying it will be done, but I am a believer that about anything can be done.

On your picture, if I applied the rule for sell entry condition 5:
if(Low[1] > Low[0]) SellCondition5 = True;

... would work for SellAll to keep us from getting in sell during ranging there, and would only get in after break of last bar's low like you show.

However, if the rule took high of bar into account for a sell, then this trade wouldn't have been taken. So it looks like above we have entry rule #5 for sell, with:
if(High[1] < High[High[0]) BuyCondition5 = True;

... would be for BuyAll.

Now the question is: Does rule #5 apply for first entries, or only for entries after the first entry of the same kind in a row?

Please don't confuse the issue with that chart. We are only concerned with calculation of Long Strong or Short Strong, which Julius provided us long ago. And he took spreads and currency value into account. All that is needed is to use GMT offset for each broker to put everyone on the same page as far as week start (if using H4) and day start (if using M15 or H1), so that we all start our Forex week at 17:00 (5PM Eastern) Sunday, and end Forex week at 17:00 Eastern Friday (which is basically the understanding by most AS the forex week times, so maybe why Kos' strategy works better for him than it has me, as well as condition 5 needing implemented about last bar's high/low vs. this bar's high/low, as I described in one of my last posts to Kos.

Kos' strategy doesn't care about the historical lineup of pairs over time. So until we get Kos' EA done, then it's just confusing the issue to bring in other methods.

But since you brought it up, I would like to say that I made my backtest indicator to do exactly that - step back through time if you want to see what happened over time with pair slot changes. All that needs to happen is my code in backtest indicator optimized like the EA's code and my latest BuysVsSells indicator code has been optimized.

My point: An EA will look at only one column over time, just like my backtest indicator already does, except that an EA would check to see if certain conditions were met (like Julius original conditions talking about all buys on top and all sells on bottom. For 1 EA idea: for tandem trading, a rule could easily be made to alert/email or get in trade when we see tandem jumpers from that condition. Or another EA idea: We could set that as entry condition 1 (all of one on top and other color all on bottom), and set entry condition 2 to when breakout pair 8 gets to slot 1, and breakout pair 7 gets to slot 14, to trigger trade of all 14 pairs. So those are 2 ideas right there that ARE Julius' original strategies as I understand them. This is why he explained Tandem's first, because you have the "settled pairs" (all one color at top, and all the other color at bottom), which is first condition for tandem and also 14 pair basket trade. Then we have breakouts, which is tandem trading up to 4 pairs, then if and/or when that breakout first two pairs gets to the opposite extremes (slot 7 to 14, and 8 to 1), then trade all 14. So one type of trade sometimes ends up as the other type of trade. If the pairs don't end up in 14-pair basket trade, they will be closed when they retreat 2 slots from their highest if going up/lowest if going down.

I hope I've made myself clear. I just think we need to keep on Kos' strategy since it is close to being completed hopefully. Then we can move on to Julius' original strategies maybe, then others? But one at a time is hard enough, and we need to think about HOW we are going to automate it, and frankly I just don't see a re-creation of that chart helping us. Maybe I'm wrong.

I've thought about this many times. But as long as I couldn't get an EA to trade, they remained ideas. So I agree with WHAT you're trying to do, but disagree with how you're going about it, because we only need one column, and an EA will look at slots, colors, and/or pairs names in that one column over time. I wish I never had taken those buy and sell conditions and alerts/emails out of that indicator before I uploaded it. Unless your aim is a manual end, or just for study, then only one column is needed IMHO, and yes I've thought about this a lot.

Wen you use my backtest indicator for manual backtesting visual mode, just think of it as an MT4 visual backtest. Anything that you wanted to look for, could be done by using the existing code and adding entry/exit conditions (simple ones Julius gave). I don't know if Julius' strategies still work or not, but I would like to know, and figure one day it'll be tested. In fact, the EA looks like it is at a good place that if these other ideas wanted to be tried, they could in another EA with another name, just using version E as a base (since FIFO I think requires closing order 0 first, I still don't understand why Robert is using i-- in both D and E, unelss FIFO only is required for multiple orders on the same pair. Otherwise, we'd want to start at 0 and work to OrdersTotal, so would use i++ instead. I'm probably not understanding. FIFO may not apply here, so i-- would be quicker and less error-prone, per Robert).

Not wanting to lurking here waiting for the final product, but i chose to stand aside these few days because to me, the EA's major issue seems persist:

"Keep re-entering due to tight profit-lock (the first few steps of P-L is like trailing stop of 7 or 8 pips----RIDICULOUS!)"

who will trade a HOLYGRAIL with target TP 2000$, SL 560$, but a trailing stop every 100$??? trailing stop is 1/6 of stoploss and 1/20 of TP, isn't that funny to you guys?

As i mentioned same thing as Sundog just brings up, why not give one entry for each "4 conditions lined up"? ONLY ONE? I actually didn't remember there was a loser among those 1st baskets.

a normal trader trading any method is more trading instantly upon seeing a signal than trading anytime the signal is still there.

Edit: Guys, remember how originally T101 method was and compare what the system method is now? how different they are!
Keep open-minded...... for example, profit-lock this way： BE at 300 pips, Lock half at 500 pips, then let it run...... Or use a stoploss of 400 pips trading only 12 or even 10 pairs.

What? 7-8 pips?

Per Julius profit-locking numbers he gave in thread (not what he put in his profit-locking EA unfortunately), profit-locking on 1 micro lot per pair basket starts at $5 if you get to $10.

$5 / $0.10 per pip = 50 pips profit is first profit-locking target. It just seems real small since stoploss is like 11 times that much ($56 / 0.10 = 560), per Julius. Of course the numbers do need changed though, but it's nowhere near 7-8 pips, unless price went against you that fast that that's all you got by time the trades were closed (and they do close quickly, but I see less profit on every trade than was locked, which when you look at the code, makes sense, since you only get out if profit goes under the locked profit).

We could do both: change the numbers to something more logical (maybe use price action for stoploss and/or takeprofit), and give option to only get into one trade per trend. I think Kos trading this manually and only putting on profit-locking when he moved away from the screen shows that he doesn't use profit-locking all the time. If he did, he'd be getting a whole lot of trades - more than is necessary and wasting a lot of spread costs. BUT we haven't gotten his strategy fully coded yet, so all this is just speculation, right? What if we get it coded right, and we don't see the loss at the end we see now? Why? Because the rules would have been changed for the retracement, which should keep us out of at least some of the losing trades I've experienced simply by never entering the bad trade. If that didn't work, then yes, one trade per signal, with larger profit-locking numbers, and next trade having to be opposite trade (sell if last trade buy, or buy if last trade sell, like finimej talked about) could be implemented. But since this is not Kos' strategy right now, let me at least work on condition 5 even if GMT offset corrected yet. So even after I add condition 5, and we test it, it still is not Kos' strategy totally IMHO, but would be better than what we have now.

Sorry, i was not clear enough.

50 pips divided/ 14 pairs = 4 pips approximately.

usually 14 pairs not moving same size, GJ may go against you 10 pips, while eurchf moved only 1 pip. but this is enough to kick us out of the trend. so we often see GJ(could be EJ or GU) retrace a few pips (7,8,9 or 10) or so, and we stopped out.

that's why i say "7 or 8 pips"

if we trade a single pair, we won't allow such narrow trailing stop, will we?

i actually changed my Profit-Logic long ago, only hoping you developers do the same since the EA is expected to run most of time (not like Kos only use P-L when he's away).

with all due respect and appreciation to Kos, I am afraid that i'm being very thick to say that (I apologize to you, Kos, firstly) Kos communicate with you programmers in a slightly different way. As a result, sometimes he is not quite understanding your concern in programming logic.

however, i think that coding exactly Kos way may not be as important as coding profitable way, because, oh, yeah, i also want to ask you this: Do you also find that almost every 1st basket is profitable?(after 4 conditions lined-up.) if so, why not do this way? if you worry pre-mature exits with pathetic 5$ profit, we can adjust the 1st step of P-L to 10$, no big deal......

i coded based on MrPip's version D to trade only 1 basket, but my coding sucks with a bug, busy these two days finding the right solution.......

I used Robert's 060910_e to make this EA version. I just added buyconditon5 and sellcondition5. I did not add it just for trades 2+ of the same kind, so it will be used as condition for first trade also (which I don't think is such a bad thing, you tell me). Condition 4 Kos' week and day start time for trend is still not using GMT, which still needs fixed. Hopefully zz will fix it with his better code that doesn't need input from user. I am testing this version on M15 GBPJPY.

Now, if you wanted to go from this version and say make only one trade, then I'd say it would probably be very profitable over the long run. Not as many trades, but we're only trading on a breakout (a break below or above last bar's range in our direction). I would say this version is probably going to be the safest one so far because of the simple addition, even with multiple trades. I have one other piece of code I thought about adding concerning price and TM for this bar, but I'm thinking that the rule just added will be sufficient to keep us out of those unprofitable trades too.

It is one possible idea, which I agree is a good one if we can't get more profit and less losses another way. Please try the latest EA with entry condition5. Who knows, it may work better than restricting ourselves to one trade per trend.

The latest EA which I uploaded saved me from a short trade at the end of the trend already (4th condition trend went short at end of GBPJPY trend). Got into Buys at 2:00 Eastern on two MBT demos and an ATC demo.

We'll see how it goes. Thank you and 6 others that downloaded it for testing the EA. As soon as I bought, price went other direction, so I'm in drawdown. Again, we'll see how it goes. Well two of the 3 demo baskets closed at first profit-lock. The other one didn't reach it before price started retracing again.

i drag it to test now, but change a little from:

let's compare the running tomorrow. my way is a little more conservative......
