Hypothetical question, if the dow and dollar were in an uptrend and the euro and pound in a downtrend, where do you think the aud would fit into this?

Would it move down since the dollar index is going up and it is a USD cross even if it isn't part of the dollar index.

Or would it move up due to its correlation with the dow and due to some amount of risk being back on.

Or would the effect of these two things mean it trades in a small range probably around the 80-90c area.

I would put more weight on the influence of the dollar and the correlative movements with EU and GU more than any Index. My opinion though. Since AU is a risk barometer and capital is flowing from Europe, I would expect a drop in AU and one-off the movements of the Dow.

i tend to notice a/u being more sensitive to risk
when risk aversion kicks in a/u was the one that hit hardest (at least this time round) and when risk kicks back in, it's the one that is more resilient to bears than the other pairs

not too sure about which one affects it more, but recently i noticed a high correlation of it with DOW (almost identical), than usd index, which i don't understand

Thanks, the dow is an interesting one at the moment, by this time next week it should have clearly shown its hand.

That is what I see currently as well but I suspect some of these relationships may breakdown in the coming months.

I hope this doesn't happen during London Open. Might get invalidated in the noise. Also, would have been nice if it didn't find friction at "00" right before. I will still be watching it though, might be good for a few. The second target is solid as a rock though.

Both have been kinda underground, but I like it that way. My wife even likes bullet. The first band is Tom Delong's new band after Blink, been around for a bit. Both bands are unreal. I run a lot of marathons and I have those two bands on repeat in my ipod.
