I am using renko live chart indicator 2.1

Please why every time I switch between time frames in live charts , I get different results in the offline chart??

v2.x (al the indicator versions) are byggy and have updating problems. Use v3.2 (EA version), it's stable.

Actually v3.2(EA) and Script version both still do change on changing the TF and I think its cuz its reading the past history of that TF properly. It even happens on the 1minTF but not too often.


Anyway, keep it on the 1minTF has TF does not matter in Renko. Theres not need to change TF at all.
Renko script works fine EA's.

Thanks for this great thread but I am still having the double bars problem with the renko charts. I know this happened once before and the EA was updated but there still seems to be a problem.

Solutions anyone?

Is it corrupted data? I have had similar issues running tests and mucking up the data. Try deleting the contents of your history folder. How good is that indicator on there?

Look on the Journal tab. There are probably errors reported. I remember few years ago I had the same problem with mine implementation and it cost me quite a bit of time to nail down the problem and fix it. All in all means that your EA is probably generating inconsistent data for some (rare) input conditions.

That indicator repaints ... so u know how good it is. I tried rebooting my VPS and it seem to be working fine "for now".

That chart look very much like you have two (or more) instances of the renko EA runing on the same currency pair, and both writing to the same offline chart. If thats the case just change the RenkoTimeFrame in one of the EA's to some other unused timefame (3,4,6, etc.).

(I have done this accidentally a few times, it's easy to forget that you already have the EA loaded and put it on one more chart.)

I think it was somehow related to two running mirrors (or whatever its called) of my VPS.

Because i did try changing the time frame before and was having the same issue. But once I rebooted the server, I havent seen that problem yet.

Is it possible to have a renko chart with bricks adjacent to each other ie side by side in a horizontal line instead of of ascending/decending and also without any wick just the defined pip movement figure

I too was thinking of something like this a few months back. But then it won't be renko any more as renko only shows when the price moves a certain number of pips. So no movement no new brick (sideways). The way to add sideways bricks is to update chart say every 30secs or every min and draw another brick regardless of movement and that would cause sideways bricks...........then it would no longer be "renko"

I wanted something like this to smooth out the jerky movement of the bricks....but I don't know....

Many thanks for all your work and guidence. My broker is a M1-M5-M15 etc TF broker. I use 3.2 on the 2m for monitoring but I can't use it for for testing or demo or live trading. Is there a way to use 3.2 or can we convert it to work on the M5 TF. Right now I'm using a script with no wicks, it works on backtest & demo but the results are a joke when compared to reality.

Any suggestions??

You can only use renko on 1TF or less, 5TF or more the history is repainted and only the live action is 'real' renko...
I always trade "Naked", and love simplicity. Im giving Renko a try, and so far so good. will post results later on.

A support and resistance based on fractals; I modified the original Barry S. indicators. its very easy to trade breakouts with it.
