Steve,

Testing the SS EA and I have a couple of bugs.

1. When using FXOPEN it just blows up, takes a few entries and then MT4 closes down. 5 digits, micro account. I couldn't trace it to anything specific in the experts or journal files? I have given up on FXOPEN for this bot.

2. W/ Forex.com MT4, demo 4 digit, I left the default 100/100 tp/sl in and for some reason it is 1000 TP, and 100 SL when it is interpreted. I originally changed them to 100/100 in the EA, then I got errors that SL was too close to entry (forex.com......) SOOOO..... I am thinking that the code might have some malfunction when converting from 5 digit to 4 digit on TP?

3. It seems to take very few entries for me but maybe that is by design. Other than that, it is slightly positive after almost a week. I seem to get lots of minor buy/major buys ALERTS etc.. but no buys... haha..

Hi Bluemele,
I've tried to run this bot on both 4 and 5 digit brokers and had know luck. Problems almost identical to yours. I've traded the indicator on a live account with Steves MPTM and had really good luck with it. Every time I add the robot to it everything goes to pot. If you figure it out please post the cure because this bot has a good strategy.

What settings are you using for the mptm when you manually trade. I have been doing the same with initial tp and sl at 1000, BE @ 100 and a jumping stop @ 100. I have only been placing trades on a strong buy or sell and it has been working great so far. Mind you only on demo so far am going to give it this week at least before going live as I don't know how much of my manual trading is down to luck as I have always been rubbish at manual trading in the past. The indicator is very good. I am using it on GBPUSD EURUSD USDCHF GBPJPY USDCAD AUDUSD USDJPY

Good Morning Paul,
The Java Beans are slowly working on my mind so hopefully most of this will make sense.
Enclosed is my set file and you will quickly see that I'm scalping.
I'm trading every pair I can find and this indi is a lot of fun. Same as you Strong Buy and Sell only......

I have no idea what is causing the problems you guys are having running the ss robot - for sure there are none here, so it is impossible to work out what is causing them.

I vaguely remember from somewhere that a robot coded using a different version of mt4 can cause problems. Frankly, I trust the guys who write the mt platform as much as I trust the criminals, so I only update my platform when it actually stops working.

Try this: shut down and restart the platform; right click the ea and select 'Modify'. When the mql4 editor window appears, hit the F5 key to recompile the code. Close the editor, shut down the platform and restart.

I do not know whether this will solve your probs, guys, but there is nothing else I can offer. As I have said often before, it is impossible to fix a fault that does not manifest itself on my machine.

Whip, brilliant to see you are using the indi with success. I shall return to your method myself for some scalping once Simone is finished. It could even turn out that SS is actually the way forward for us all. We shall see; for sure, I am still testing this robot.

That indi and your mptm is just about the most fun I've had in a long time......with that said the bot and that indi have sent me looking for my Glenlivet bottle more times than I'd like to admit.
It has taken a total of 3 trades for me....none on a 4-digit broker. I'm on my 5th broker now....IBFX 5-digit,new downloaded demo and everything new from post 1....will see how it goes...........where is that Glenlivet bottle just in case............have a great day....

mptm's success astonishes me. When I started writing it, I knew bugger-all about coding mql4 - shows in some of the early code, too.

If you can carry on doing that then you need nothing else that I have to offer.

Then, nor do the rest of us because we can follow your example.

Then I can automate it and we can all watch the Braves play the Phillies and completely ignore the computer.

Sounds like an Upcoming Plan to me.

And lest we forget, SS came to me from Karl, who's user name is, I think forexkiwi or some such. Not sure - I know him as Karl from our emails. Karl recognised how good the indi is and persuaded a (highly reluctant) me to try it.

As I so often point out, all I do is bolt together the ideas that others provide - that is what robot builders do.

Just curious, when u are manually trading this, what balance and lot size are you using? I only ask because you have partial lot closures enabled, as well as global equity closure set at $100. So obviously this makes a decent difference if you are trading 1 lot, or 10 lots, or 0.5 lots
Also, are you just taking the SS indicator strong buy/sell, or are you filtering it with the RSI as per the pdf as well?

My live accounts are on a 4-digit broker......I'm using .2 lots that gives me .1 on the split...a small account...fast and furious with no sl and tp most times......don't fall asleep....

k thx, i started it with .3 on 5k account, so we'll see how it gets along. The 2000 equity protection you have in place, is that 20% of your balance, or 50% etc?
I bet when you have like 10 pairs firing off all at once, doesnt take much to get to that $100 global profit target at .2 lots each

That is the idea....you need a close all trades script and a stop watch.....make sure you beat 90 seconds and I'm sure you understand that.......

Well thats a nice buzz kill, after running it for only about an hour, already repainting signals like they are going out of style lol.
No wonder why the bot has such a problem with it, hard to autotrade repainting signals

Sorry about that...I normally run it on 15 pairs for about 2 hours at the start of the Asian Session and for about the same on the start of the NY Session Haven't had any problem at all to speak of.....
