i know that, but i read here that the gbjjpy is the leader of the basket some how so if he take south the all basket will follow.

And this is a good reason to use either custom indicators or offline charts. I have seen two people's offline charts, and they don't always agree with each others, yet they both say they are right, so I don't know what to think. Maybe my indicators are wrong, but I guess each coder trusts their own work.

Think about it like this: that BI indicator uses 5 and 10 MAs.

So you may be 5 to 10 bars too late on the move. On a big move, not a problem. Not a big move = problem (like I saw yesterday, which was a lot like your picture, although I was on M15. As soon as I sold, price went other direction - happened twice in a row).

Now MACD is also using moving averages and is a lagging indicator too, yet in a more unique manner. subtract 26 EMA from 12 EMA, and then get a 9 SMA of that. So 0 line on MACD is actually EMA 12 crossing EMA 26.

I guess in spite of my concerns with lagging indicators, since at least a couple people appear to be consistent in pulling pips, I'd make an indicator for it, and if everything can be done right there, I do intend on making an EA. However, I still got problems to fix in indicator so that it signals correctly on condition4, so that alerts/emails are correct.

OK, here is newest indicator v1.2.

Just put it on the chart and within couple minutes got a lineup on Orest TF to BuyAll with other 3 in agreement it shows on indicator comments.

Note: Should only get an alert/email if all conditions met. But you will still get one alert per bar while the conditions are all true. Will look into fixing it so that it only gives one alert when all conditions met and then doesn't give an alert until all conditons for opposing trade is met, but it's not so easy since all conditions are not all met on one bar, but over several bars.

As far as using the BuyAllPairs indicator using iCustom should be no problem.

First, we need to make sure we're talking about same indicator:

OK, so I go to place it on the chart. I get all inputs (in Inputs tab), and get number and color of each buffer (in Colors tab). With this info, I am ready to plug in info to iCustom:

so given above and indicator inputs and numbers and colors of buffers, let's do this:

Now above, I used the inputs I wanted to, and have not given the EA user any control over the variables the custom indicators are using.

If I want to give the user control, I would just copy or recreate the user inputs (in indicator as extern in front) and put them in the EA as "extern" (external user inputs that the user has control over when EA is placed).

If I wanted to do that, it would look like this:
at top of EA code, with EA user inputs:

Went outside to take a smoke break and figured it's easy afterall to make one buy alert per buyall, and one buyalert per sellall. see what you think about v1.3. just like before on v1.2, you must pick which timeframes must be in agreement to take the trade, between choices available. If you'd like more choices, let me know. Still not sure these are the correct signals, which is where Kos is needed to confirm. Using last bar for 1st buy or sell condition, and once that is met, looks at present bar for other conditions to be met also before giving trade signal.

I would become a programmer if someone wanted to pay me LOL (Lord knows I could use the money, and I'm better at writing code than testing it or watching charts LOL). But honestly I got into it so I could one day program my own stuff instead of having to go to someone else everytime I need a change, etc.

time was GMT 20:10

thought that was the "one alert" you mentioned, so go long.

right now 15minutes later, in green.

yep. if you require all timeframes to line up (default in my indicator for now, since banana used it like this) before signal is given, even if everything else aligns, then you'll get signal only if all conditions are met, including which timeframes you require be aligned. There was a big uptrend buy, then ranged for a minute, then when closed back above TM, got long signal again (or didn't if you got the first one before big trend, so you'd still be in it for second leg now, which I can't say this is "second leg", I can say that it looks like it wants to take off again even though we are at resistance/supply).

BI_T101_OTR took south because it's from all pairs, not just gbpjpy.

I'm trying to analyze indicators that Kos uses, and I comes up with some points.

 

  1. BI_T101_OTR is roughly 5 SMA and 10 SMA on basket bars. (see picture#1, I added red/blue sma on main chart to compare w/ BI_T101_OTR)
  2. Samir Daily is basically to buy or sell basket at midnight (aqua vertical line & green horizontal line). When basket price moves over green, Samir will show long signal. Below green, Samir will show short signal.

That means this strategy will go long when
- 5sma cross 10sma
- basket price is above price from midnight point
- price cross Trend Magic (yellow/light blue)
- macd up.
This will make profit on picture #2

However, for ranging day, basket may turn back on you. Eg. picture 3, you might short at white arrow but price would turn back up half hour later. Note that I use M5, I'll look more into M15/H1. But that's basicly my idea to share.

Please correct me if I don't sound right.

I don't know how Samir did his, but mine starts on first bar of week keeping tab (as if you put on IA first minute of week), and Daily would use Daily open per broker (how Orest coded his last EA version).

Other than that, it sounds right, incuding lagging, and is how I coded the indi (I didn't code the "cross" but maybe should do it like that, since you could get in at middle or end of trade the way it's coded now).

If you make it in indi to use Daily and turn rest of Orest TF options to false, then you should have what you describe (with exception of daily open being the broker's daily open, which is what Orest did).

I guess looking at ADX in H1 shows ranging areas pretty good, so we could use that (Orest used ADX in his, but I didn't know at the time what ADX was for, so at the time didn't see value). If ADX below 20, we could get out of trades, or get into trades when ADX crosses above 20. When ADX gets to 40, we could exit. Trade whoever is on top (DI+ on top for BuyAll, or DI- on top to SellAll). This seems better and less lagging than the basket indicator (BI) 5 and 10 MA crossover.

Check this out, i don't have much time to test this while programming, so i need you guys help on this.

i got the idea from Geoffb65's thread.

see the chart below, when the last 2nd/3rd bar from now has formed a lower fractal, the EA enter long if BI_T101_OTR_V1_5 pointing north. (short is vice versa). as you see, i've just entered a basket by this EA (highest blue arrow and green horizontal line), 130+ pips now. but this may be dumb lucky, so please try this out.

In other words, this is not an EA watching pairs ranking to trade. It simply trades BI_T101_OTR_V1_5's direction on 1H with Fractal Breakout of GBPJPY on 15m. Ideally, I should use Don's T101 BuyAllPairs, but right now it consumes much more computing resources, so i use BI for now; and Fractal should be on ZZ's offline chart, but that's a mystery to my poor programming ability. So let's try this out first.


for everything, keep default for now. if use on IBFX mini (change all pair names to EURUSDm, GBPJPYm,..... and pair_suffix = m), if use on FXDD (u have to change basket config by change all 14 pair names, since fxdd has no nzdjpy).

The EA use Orest EA as a platform to start on (I hate to re-invent wheels). The EA should be able to lock profit/stoploss/take profit as original T101 way.

Note, be patient, this EA should trade only 2~3 baskets per week, i guess.

if wish to force some entries, adjust buyallTF from 60 to 15 or even 5 (geez)......

Can you select the pair that the fractal logic works on? If EUR pairs are leading the pack, I like to look at them to see direction as well. Lately it seems that EURJPY and EURUSD are helpful.

There's a problem caused by the following code in the Kos_ indi file that needs to be set right:

If indi is put on non-GJ chart, this code generates continuous alerts instead of just once. so, it's not possible to get rid of the alert window to remove the indi from the wrong chart and put it on a G/J chart. I had to use task manager to close the program, then go into the related profiles file and remove this indi entry before I could work again.

I shifted this line of code to the following location in the init() function thus:

Sounds like a good fix, although since Kos uses the indi's MACD and Trend Magic (which you would want to put on at this stage and give feedback whether my indicator's readings of the other indicators are the same as what the other indicators are when they actually on chart), and uses the single-pair indicators on GBPJPY, then his strategy is linked to GBPJPY, as banana's was I believe, when they need to either be used on offline chart, or me rebuild them as T101 indicators. Also, I'll have to remember to put that code you mentioned in init on next revision if I don't rebuild the indicators as T101, which if I do would mean they could be use don any pair's chart and should be tested and made sure they read the same on multiple pairs' charts.

What I noticed this week (and a lot of weeks), most of the buy (could be a sell just as well) run happened before week ever got to LONG STRONG. This was the week's large counter-trend run. First large run defines the weekly trend, but sometimes just as large a move (like this past week) happened against trend (SellAll on BuysVsSells goes up like 2,300 pips, and comes back down to 0 (actually down to 772 pips, then back up to 1842 pips, then down to 0), while BuyAll goes up to 0, so Buys gained (back) 2,300 pips (against trend after it lost 2,300 pips first), crosses 0 and makes 700 pips LONG STRONG. But BULK OF MOVE happened BEFORE week ever was LONG STRONG after large downtrend (uptrend on Sells, which were above 0, so SHORT STRONG).

So there is 1 resistance/support built by the 0 line, and the other is whatever the height is of the week on the one that gains the most (2,300 resistance first major uptrend on BuysVsSells was made by Sells this week, which make other moves before it during week look tiny). Sometimes you have one large trend that goes all week, sometimes you have like what we had this past week - trend in one direction and then just as large a move back almost if not completely. That's 4,600 pips AT LEAST if moving both directions. If playing all up and down moves starting from 0 on SellAll main move, you have 2,325 SellAll going up (SHORT STRONG), plus (2325-772=) 1,553 SellAll going back down (still SHORT STRONG, but you'd be losing if selling all), plus (1842-772=) 1,070 SellAll going back up (SHORT STRONG), plus (1842-0=) 1,842 SellAll going back down (still SHORT STRONG, but you'd be losing if selling all), plus 778 BuyAll going up (LONG STRONG), equals grand total of 7,568 pips possible this last week. You could add almost another 1,000 pips if playing both direction before the "big trend" of the week (which actually was trend and counter-trend just as large as I've pointed out). Can I tell you I am getting them? No. But it's worth looking into figuring out how to get the bulk of those without whipsaw. I am looking at BuysVsSells on H1 chart, showing pips instead of currency value, and can tell you this is a "normal" week. Thousands of pips a week are possible. And honesty, no time looks like when Julius waqs doing this back in 2008. If you set Weeks Back to over 130, the data may not be correct (you may not even have that much history), you can see that we have been in a weak recovery for the basket since HUGE drop in 2008. But even in "ranging" or "slow climb" (basket going up overall), we can make 2,300 pip SELLS in a week, I am intrigued to say the least. Edit: Actually, when looking on GBPJPY weekly chart, we see we've been in a confirmed downtrend since mid-October 2009 (lower high swings, lower low swings).

I think I'll use Day and Hour maybe and not Week to make sure I'm going with their trend. And maybe just H4 and H1 to go with their trend (make sure they both agree and if other indicators agree, then you get signal).

Updated/Corrected Version for anyone interested. This is similar to what Kos showed, but... only similar...

add 'LeadingPair' for user control
correct mistake in buying entry condition (essential)
use safer trend identification


user recommendations:

1. put it on Monday U.S. morning;
2. check if your brokers offer those 14 pairs to trade;
3. if your broker's pair name is like: EURUSDxyz, then you need to change all 14 pairs and "LeadingPair" in the settings, and set "pair_suffix" = xyz;
4. keep other things default;
5. use MPTM to trailing stop, if you see floating profit is good.

Hi!

this is 1HR TF trades as I would have taken them last week, no thanks to my ISP who shut me out thru out last week, thank God I am back on.

No long story, if anyone has taken the trades on 1HR TF based on the way I marked the chart, it would have been a great week for him. 3 SELLS and 2 BUYS with only 1 SELL end with small profit

To them that are simple all things are simple.
