1200 pips ...amazing drop. Price action leading to this drop was weak but who can predict such a big move ..... i think this was related to NYSE drop.

I have my sell limit at .2856, I had one in on th CJ as well and it missed getting triggered by 8 pips. That is set at 90.06. But it just got missed too.

I will keep it there for the time being, my EurAud got stopped out when the markets went nuts, so thats done for +160 pips.

Yep ... I agree. Thats my biggest challenge right now. I am going to take a few weeks off from my annual holidays and will dedicate to practicing and watching the markets and hope fully move to this new carrer as a full time trade?

Any plans to be a full time trader NM?

I am not sure if I would trade full time or not I have given thought to it, and I am not sure if I want to turn it into a job yet or not, still debating. Allthough some day I am sure I will.

Hi NM,

I am well, just wrapping a few things on other business - doing well, pippage has been good too.

I missed the JPY moves, but hey all the JPY action reminds me of a comment in this thread (I think - ) where it was mentioned that Bank of Japan was looking for JPY strength against other currencies: JPY wanting to go 3000 pips stronger against the GBP/USD. (will see if I can find it and put the link in)

When are you back in the Thread-activity again?

Hi All,

have you noticed the "redefinement" of the ADR's of late -
EJ & GJ both +300;
EU 180+;
GU 190+;

Nice large numbers reflecting the volatility of late.

Lets see what the week brings our way in pips.

ok, here is one, lets see where she goes...

I did some analysis this morning and decided Eur/USD 61% Fibo, 1.3040 RN - could be a place to wait for a retrace and eventually a entry...

And she is delivering, entry was 1.3045, SL was 30pips, now profit locked in @ 1.29... Let see if she closes her GAP today / Asian tomorrow...

(Phew - I was on taking this trade after all ADR's were redefined - and went to get some coffee )

I missed that move on the eur/usd at 1.30 area. But I did take an entry at 1.28. Looking for it to break the low put in last week. congrats on picking off those good entries.

well, I think problem is everything has already been said regarding the initial strategy. And no new question arise, that's why it is slowly dying.

That’s true .... but i am thinking that what’s happening in other threads which are there for a long time and still alive and kicking they all must have the strategy discussed a lot of time. I think we better start posting at least one chart a day of any potential setup we are looking at this way it will keep things interesting and just like other active threads it will keep moving. We all need to start chipping in to keep things going and wont let it die.


By the way .... I just wanted to post a new development which I feel would help me decrease my learning time and gain more experience in testing, refeining and implementing our strategy; as i dont get enough screen time otherwise.

Ok ... i'll be buying a software called ForexTester. I did some research and came to know that this is one of the best and most reasonably priced package available to back test strategies in a near real time environment.

I have gone through some of the comments of some quite experienced traders on FF and they all absolutely love it. Therefore I am thinking of buying it asap..

Anyone else here used it ...Custos, Danku .... ? Any experiences to share?

I agree, we need to post regularly to keep it alive... Other threads have also gone down in activity levels, but still continue to ride the continuation wave.

However, I dont post all my trades / potential setups as I found the levels of entitlement by some distracting. Hence my trade posts have been much less.

On the testing / back testing topic - I just used manual testing / back testing and found it of immense value - work the charts according to the rules and measure your strategy.

I saw on another thread, "testing, back-testing, demo, small stakes, large stakes" is the only way to go and I agree, I am still working on going to large stakes, but hey what is large - all part of your perspective again.

Lets try and keep it going...

Hola,

looks like GBP/CAD could break out of its triangle on Day, looking for entry on 15mins... BPC on the retest of 14900

Lets see what develops...

GBP/CHF also working itself into a triangle setup...

Edit: Caution on Red News for GBP in 1hour...

UPDATE: Entry on GBP/CAD on touch of RN 1.4895, trade @ BE now, lets see if she free rides
Final Update: Taken out @ BE - BE trades are still king versus loosers, so after news we will reassess this trade and possibly engage again only if valid

Second possibility: EUR/CAD - breaking out to downside, money management, split stake in 2 between CAD trades
Final Update: nope, once it turned corrective, corrective turned impulsive on 15min TF, so no trade for now - looking for stronger S/R levels

Well, I was posting several charts recently. But I felt like I am holding up this thread by myself.
About the backtesting, not sure how that program works. But normally you can only backtest systems that are based on indicators and not on PA (except you are one of a kind programmer who can program PA and S/R levels as well). And from my experience any system not based on PA and S/R levels will fail sooner or later. Thus all you can do normally is a manual backtest, which takes a really long time. But this manual backtest will give you the screen-time you need.

I am gonna start posting again a little bit and see where it goes, but if it goes into a monologue again then I will stop posting.

With a history of programming - It would be a pretty challenge to program a piece of algorithm that will read PA successfully in conjunction with S/R levels... I think that might be why most EA type trading system only works for so long as this method of trading is reactive, not proactive...

You need to train the eye and ask those "What?" questions...
