The new zip file post DL worked fine for me, I appreciate your help. It is an exceptional setup, thank you to you and Xaphod for all the great work and assistance. If you have a free moment I do have a couple of time setting questions to verify I am setting the program up correctly.

My MT4 is UK based so I thought it would be true GMT - however when I compare true GMT to my MT charts they are one hour earlier….. i.e. GMT -1. [BTW I am EST which is GMT-5]
Per your post to “plind” [above] I set my Asian Session “Open Hour” to 21 [The default of 22 -1] – Then I left the “CloseHour” to 4 which was the default.
My Asian Session appears to display fine on my MT4 w/ accurate Wellington and NY close candles [compared to another platform] (It also begins 3 hrs. before my period separator (GMT 24:00, consistent with a setting of GMT 22-1 to adjust to my MT server) – However; you state “CloseHour” should be set to 6 [?]. I currently have 7 actual hours of candles displayed in my Asian session [at the default setting of 4]. I’m no programmer; I think I am fine but wanted to run this possible discrepancy by you if it’s a red flag.
[For clarity, my Asian Session [Tok. Chan.] now displays [my time] from 5:00pmEST [2:00pmPST] until 12:00midnight EST [9:00pm PST] w/ settings of 21 & 4 – I believe this is the correct Toy. Chan. – stated in PST as I recall you are in CA –would appreciate it if you could confirm.
Additionally, my V-line is set at the default of 16 and appears to display the correct London close occurring @ 12:00EST [9:00PST][17:00GMT]. But since my MT server is GMT-1, it seems my setting should be 15, not the default of 16. Am I missing something please?
Lastly, my “GMT Shift” in “ant-GUBreakout” is -1 [Negative 1] to align the lines w/ my Asian Session – It’s ok to use negative numbers in this field isn’t it? [Post of my M15 for Fri 10/7/10 is attached]

Finally, could someone tell me what “BSLF” stands for in the dashboard, can’t seem to figure that one out…lol. Thanks to everyone for all the help.

From the description in the source file:
PTFH - Pips to fractal high
PTFL - Pips to fractal low
PLFS - Pips of Last Fractal Swing.
PTO - Pips to open
PTMA - Pips to MA
BSLF - Bars Since Last Fractal

That's because as of one month ago, we are now in Daylight Savings time. I know it gets confusing...I've been turned around many times myself. The reason it's a little extra confusing is because GMT never changes with DST...it always remains the same. So for the next 6 months, London time will be off of GMT by 1 hour. Once you figure out how to make these adjustments, you will unlock the mystery! (I am attaching a PDF I created over a year ago which I have printed out and always sitting on my cork board right next to my desk...and after a year and a half, I have to glance over and peer at it almost every day!)

If you are referring to CH's Tokyo Channel (TC, or TKC), then you NEED to make sure that TC is set to be from 22:00gmt to 4:00gmt. It is not measuring from the Asia session open, it is measuring from Wellington (same as Sydney) open (the first market of the day to open)...all the way till 12 midnight ET. So, go to your indicator settings and make sure the TC is plotting the lines from 22:00gm (whatever that may be on your broker's chart) till 4:00gmt.

My head's getting a little turned around here, but it sounds like you're off by one hour. The TC should be from 22:00gmt (which is 18:00 ET, or 15:00 PT). If yours is starting at 17:00 ET, you are most likely starting the channel 1 hour early.

Again, I can't say exactly, as I'm not looking at your charts. But if you are certain that the vertical line is being plotted at 16:00 GMT (London Close), then you're good.

Yes, -xx settings are fine and are sometimes needed to plot at the right place.

Here is the Market Hours PDF I created which also contains news time for each currency pair as well as volatility stats for days of the week etc.

I should point out that I have struggled a bit over the Sydney and Tokyo opens. I have seen conflicting readings from different sites:

...for now I'll stick with CH's 22:00 GMT time for Wellington open as that is how our template is set up for.

I noted that I cannot see the fractal arrows on the latest CH Template even though I have them selected as an indicator on the template. I confirmed that they are in the indicator list for the template. Is there something in the latest template that blocks them from showing up?

Hi eelfranz,

I have noted in numerous posts that you are a big fan of the Trader’s Dynamic Index. Your point is that it is very useful for trades that have extended runs, as it will continue to report a continuing trend (green RSI stays above red line), while the 8,3,3 stochastic will tend to “smash” and flatten out in the overbought area while the run continues. I see your point and agree with this.

Questions:

· Do you continue to take fresh reversals or perhaps inside/outside bar entries in those areas as long as the stochastic is “smashed” or up in the OB area?

· According the rules for the TDI, a trader should only take trades if the green RSI line is at or above 50% (for a long). Are you using the TDI in this manner or just using it to stay in extended runs as described above?

The reason I ask is that I did an extensive study with the TDI (having been an owner of the Synergy System for over two years) and noted that the CH reversal patterns and inside bar/outside bar entries tend to be to “safer” when the basic rules of the TDI are met in conjunction with basic CH entry rules. BUT, I also see that many excellent trades are missed because the TDI is not ready at the time of the reversal.

It appears that the TDI is great for CH entries or IB/OB entries that occur in a trend – and this is where the TDI shines.

I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Neo,
I downloaded your Indicators zip to computer,dragged and dropped them into metatrader 4 template and Indi folders, I can see them in the folders but the templates and Indicators dont go to the metatraders list when I open the platform,hope I have explained clearly,thank's for sharing they look great on your charts.

I can see the fractal arrows on the CH Template.
May be it is caused by the color or visualization setting of the indicator.

hey Jamie,

re your indicator not loading problem.....

It seems to be a quirk of MT4 that when you have a lot of indicators loaded into memory, adding more takes quite a time to load. The solution is to open and close your MT4 until it "catches" the new indicators you have loaded, then they will appear. The problem is also related to the speed of your computer processor. The faster your machine the less problematical it is. I am running MT4 on my MAC (bootcamp Windows partition) and it runs like a dream. So, once you have loaded your indies, reopen MT4...if it opens immediately, the program hasn't grabbed into memory your new indies, so you need to close it and reopen. You will know it is recognizing your new indies because MT4 will take quite a bit longer to load, and as I said, depending on the horsepower of your machine it could even take minutes to load! SO just be patient and WAIT for it to load......

Verify/try the following:

1. They are supposed to be on the "Customized Indicators" list of the metatrade.

2. Open a new file browser window and check the '...experts//indicators' and see if the new files are withing the directory. After you drag and drop, it may appear that the process has been done, but actually not.

3. Extract the zip file content to a regular window directory and do copy from there.

4. If copy always fail, try install metatrade in "C:" instead of "Crogram Files" and try again.

As far as I know a fractal is determined only after the closing of two candles. Does the entry signal is received the second candle fractal of the right before it is closed?
the buy signal is below of candl number 1 or candle number 2 ?

The fractal arrow will appear at the open of candle 2, which is the entry candle. The entry is when the price in candle 2 breaks (comes below) the low of candle 1. When going short, I like to see the ask price break the low of canlde 2 by 2 pips. When going long, I like to see the bid price break the high of entry candle by 2 pips.

Price Action is my #1 sign for entries and exits. I trade what I see.

The TDI Indicator - I only use the red/green lines with yellow being dotted. I use it basically for entries along with Stochastics. I don't follow the rule with green above red & yellow and 50 to go long. Too many missed pips for my trading style.

I've also noticed when using the HA Candles... Many times on the normal candles (Candle #2 in a reversal) is onlycandle #1 when using the HA Candles. Can be confusing if your not aware of it.

The numbers are shown to us on the Videos at the beginning. Watch all many times is my best suggestion. When you have them on your charts and scroll back... you'll see they are right on when using the 15 minute chart. I'm sure NeoRio has included that indicator on his latest zip file...
