Investing In The Carry Trade

I'm not talking about trading the AUD against the JPY I'm talking about borrowing money from Japan to deposit it in Australia. Simply for the interest on a 1 to 1 basis. Not leveraged. Any suggestions on how to go about it?

Just buy AUDJPY with 1:1 leverage. IMO, the cost is cheaper and easy to manage.

As FQ said I imagine, or have multi-currency bank accounts and physically move money between them.

But why wouldn't you want to take advantage of leverage?

i tried it, but couldn't get a load from japan so was stuffed from the start

apparently you need to visit them first and follow there protocal to get in favour with a bank - then your sorted, but i don't have the funds to make the trip

best of luck and keep us posted, i'd like to borrow from japan to buy my house in Aus, i could then pay myself a repayment based on 6% (below the Aus rate) and easily repay the japan loan
