No all back to normal now Chris not sure what happened. I think it returned an hour or so after the problem.

Sorry to barge in - It happen to me too an error sign came up and I am not able to make any trade - tried numerous time still failed . An hour or 2 later when I came back to check then it is back to normal. Otherwise no other problem with my live account since december 2009

second half of April is ok compared to other months. I have noticed that execution during London closing and American sessions are the fastest.

that is a worry....I have had more delayed executions in the last week ( during London) or so than before that.

I have been informed by support that an 'upgrade' recently installed might improve things. We'll see.

Id be interested to know how much different other brokers might be....if any other broker has significnatly less execution delay then ultimately that is where my money will go.
All that matters is winning the week

Hi,
The upgrade/fix didnt occur till late last week so you should now notice the difference.
Please however keep us updated.

Just found this thread - I have been having execution problems for the last month or more ... and I just read an email that you have updated your systems. However, my executions on Friday and today are still very slow - as soon as i click on Buy/Sell, metatrader responds "ORDER IN PROCESS" and screen stays that way for about 4 seconds, before filling me to the MARKET PRICE. Now what else can be done?? It seems though i am still having slow executions.

PS: have tested my connection, etc etc - its all perfect; even with other brokers i have no delay.

You should check your build and maybe reinstall as the fix we have done and comments from clients and also comments on this forum has shown that the main problem has been fixed.
The actual problem was that our co-location centre had our main server on half duplex connection not full duplex (whatever that means) but this wasnt the case for the demo server ip address hence the demo was always instant.
We are not leaving it there though as we will also be adding more servers shortly as metaquotes have advised we do this due to our growth in client numbers and to ensure that speed is always good regardless of client numbers.
With reference to your issue can you call in or we call you to test your speed?

I never really had a problem with execution, but i have to say it has got quicker for me since i got the email about the upgrade.

I have just done a few trades on live acc. in the last hour without execution delay. If we have fast market and the execution performs like it did now I happily trade with Go Markets again.

Ok mate,

Here is the deal - I have got a spare laptop, so what i have done is formatted the hard drive. I have installed only Windows XP and its essentials and just GOTRADER version 4 Build 266 on this laptop. I've also directly connected it to the router instead of having it on "wireless" mode. I have installed nothing else i.e. no antivirus, firewall, etc.

RESULT:
GoMarkets metatrader is still taking about 3 seconds for a fill. Not instant as it used to be a few weeks/months ago. I live in Sydney. And as i mentioned earlier, ive tested my execution speeds with other brokers (American, British, Swisse and Australian) and they take no more than 0.5 seconds for a fill (3 of them are metatrader platforms).

What now?

It is a bit strange that you are still getting a delay on your execution. As you can see from comments above from other clients the execution speed has been improved and we have located and fixed the problem. Have you yet spoken to anyone here directly? It would be useful to get the IP address so we could run a test.

I would appreciate it if you coudl call me directly.

How is everyone else going since the fix?

Been with go markets for about 2 yrs now!. No complaints from me. Their customer service is very professional. Spreads are good. Better off going with these guys rather than getting robbed by FXCM or IG markets!!

Just an FYI that GO Markets is no longer opening corporate/partnership accounts for U.S. citizens. They will honor existing accounts, but no new ones. They have not changed the verbiage on their website yet, but have made this move in response to recently enacted anti-money laundering legislation here in the States.

Further to this, we are talking to our legal and compliance teams to try and get a work around here, but of course the situation has not changed for US individuals to open accounts with us.

A work around would be nice, but the regulatory situation here in the U.S. just continues to worsen. Keep up the good work.

I have been with go markets for a over a year. They are a reasonably new broker and had a lot of trouble to begin with, especially the first half of 09, but they have improved dramatically since then.

They are definitely a high quality broker with good spreads. Also the Australian regulation is much better than those of the USA. Their customer service is also excellent.

I'm interested to know if there is any benefit in having a GoMarkets australian a/c over a GoMarkets NZ a/c. I'm a New Zealander, I'm assuming GoMarkets nz is a white label company. Has anyone had any problems with the NZ firm.

Go Markets NZ is technically an introducer to Go Markets Australia at this stage and is not a branch office, we are planning a branch office in due course.
So in answer to your question there are no actual benefits at this stage and would be wrong to mislead you in anyway.
