GBPUSD WEEKLY PERSPECTIVE

Cable gapped down almost reaching ST1 and then snapped back again for a test of S1 which is now potentially R1. CR has moved down to 1.53428. As long as Cable remains below these levels bias is bearish for a possible test of ST1. Should Cable close above CR and especially WR1, bias will change to the upside.

GBPUSD ANALYSIS

Cable closed above our critical level (CR) giving it a bullish flavor. However, today’s candle is a highwave candle against WR1 which could be an early signal that bulls have lost momentum. We need a close below CR as confirmation if this is the case. In the meantime S1 has become a zone and bears have to get through zone in order to gain momentum.

GBPUSD ANALYSIS

CR has become CS @ 1.5331 in the S1 zone @ 1.53351/52886. As long as these levels hold daily chart is very bullish. Still important to note though that WR1 depicts the dominant trend on the weekly chart which is down and today’s daily candle, eventhough it closed above WR1, did not close above the high of yesterday’s highwave candle which means highwave candle could still turn the market here against WR1.

Bears challenged the top of S1 penetrating through it to the downside and stopping our buy out, but could not maintain momentum causing market to snap back above S1 putting the bulls back in command for a possible retest of RT1 and maybe further. GBPUSD ANALYSIS

Cable ended the day with a huge bearish engulfing candle that engulfs 5 candles (refer to green highlighted candles). It is also interesting to notice that this bearish engulfing has formed against the high of previous check mate pattern (refer to yellow highlighted pattern) which gives us a potential double top. As long as the high of this double top holds, we can see a retest of WST1 and possibly further down.

GBPUSD ANALYSIS

The day ended with a hammerlike candle on ST1 which is also WCS and as long as WCS holds the aggressive weekly trend is up. However S1 has now become R1 which has moved up to 1.54994 which makes the dominant daily trend down and Cable has also moved below WR1 again which means dominant weekly trend is down and CS has become CR @ 1.52906 making aggressive daily trend down too.

These are three bearish levels (CR, WR1 and R1) against one bullish level (WCS) and the question is who’s gonna win? WCS has proved to be quite formidable in the recent past creating the possibility of a bounce up here; however as long as CR, WR1 and R1 hold the bounce should be short lived and the down trend should resume. Should we get a break of ST2, then Cable bears could retest ST3.
