Step 4 is good enough for me.
I am 90% profitable all the time.

Heck, I don't need ALL the money in the world to myself.

Money is needed to enjoy a good lifestyle.
This means I will be happy when I have enough to do what I need to do.

Excessive surplus is just plain greed.

Good luck to those along these stages. I will give one hint: Eventually you will have to get off the system bandwagon and learn HOW to trade. It is a skill-set that can be learned......but it takes time. Years.....and 1000's of hours. Yep....1000's of hours of testing and study. Sorry....there are no shortcuts. I looked for quite some time......ain't there. Don't expect to make a living doing this with any less work than you would devote to mastering any other vocation. This is not get-rich quick. Those with intelligence...

Out of all of the articles I've read on trading, the one on the first post of this thread is the best.

I love the start of this thread. I am yet to read it all.

I made the transition from stage 1 to stage 2 sometime last night ( i think / hope ) after spending a couple of months down in demo land.

To be honest I am still trying to cope with the despair. There I was thinking it was going to be easy.....

I am very glad I have actually joined this forum and started to read a bit more instead of blowing my demo account. Don't get me wrong, I will go back to blowing my demo account soon. It is just nice to have a break from it and smell the flowers.

Cheers.

Adam.

Just kidding.
Have a good one!

So, having too much of more than we need is a desire to have more than is needed?

Yes and No. Problem is "too much" is relative in a business where the bottom line is make as much money as possible. Which means we are all greedy. I am greedy. Come to the dark side. We have cookies.

Excellent post!

If I'm starting to not care whether I lose or win, as long as I've done my analysis and I'm not risking more than 2% per trade, which level am I in??

edit: It's real! Only ~5% is in level 5!

I'm not sure about step 5 with forex, I actually think step 4 of conscious competence may well be safer, it's probably each to his own though.

I do like your comparison to college courses, I find it amazing that people will spend fortunes going to college for 3 years to obtain a qualification so that they can work hard to pay debt off and yet expect to learn forex in a few weeks and make millions.

it's not an analogy even, it's a full direct comparison.
