With that said Id like to get outside of 15M stuff for a while .. and talk about the ideas I base firm trades on...

I base them on

Efficiency..

I view with income stream production..
I view with risk vrs reward on the initial position..
I view with time in market in conjunction to stop size and IRD stream..

ability to inject capital..

I view with ability to add funds to the trade at certain points that do not increase risk on the inital position..
I view with the ability to add funds to the account or see an increase in account without risking more on the inital position only growing ability to build into position..
I view with the ability to add funds without increasing the BE rate.

trend persistance..

With the ability to maximize time in market for efficiency
times when trend persistance is likely to occur based on information in market..
stability of price movement.

Time in market vrs decay..

If trading with decay.. how is price moving vrs the time and decay..

clarity and reason..

3. do the same on following trades, moving all of your position to the latest SL level
4. take partial profits (do you ever)
5. get stopped out on all of position on your last entry SL level

Is your stage 4 not going to decrease the pyramiding/compounding effect on your equity ?

Regarding my Van Tharp's reading, I use to trail my stop loss rather than taking partial profits but they are many ways to skin a cat !

makes sense..
on number 4 I never take partial profits.. I only build into new positions and get stopped out in profit.

what im getting at tho is the multiple piece that support my firm trade a practical example whould be this image below.. Its a way to roll many strategies into one..

for example this e/a trade euro rate is 1% aussy rate at the time was 4% now 4.5%.. eurozone is extremely weak.. aussy is very strong..
eurozone debt to gdp very high aussy gdp to debt 7-9% so I look at an extremely long timeframe lol daily or a weekly or even a monthly.. this is a double bottom breakout short with the IRD using a longer and the pair is experiencing rate divergence. I know that it will take multiple days to reach my stop and I know that in those multiple days rate payments will decay my losses and cover spread.. reducing my inital risk without effecting reward on that initial risk.

the way the breaksout work is that they are in succession and each new break in the same direction can be used to build a much larger position and not increase initial risk on the position.

as for clarity and reason its SZ swapped to resistance on a double break with stop above and is clearly a good trade.. with the IRD on a time span where it matters..

it depends on new breaks distance from old break.. but on new trigger I want the BE on the first 2 trades to be at the high of the new wave or higher.. but never lower than that high in which results in a new trade causing a loss.

The partial profit MM usually leads to losses as it reduces over the string of trades the average Risk:reward and will drive normally profitable systems into losses.. unless your edge of course takes this into consideration.

if you chase and trail with dynamic stop which means not one that moves on a basic size or trail distance but user set under lows or whatever.. generally this will skew profitability as well.. usually on random data 1:1.8 on average.. pyramiding ups that to 1:2.5 over time on random data.. and with any real edge increases profits dramatically over time without increasing initial risk

new traders usually cant handle this tho emotionally.. they see profits and wanna take them but cant to see entering into a profitable position with new money and it having the chance to go to BReak Even.. so its best for them to start with a dynamic stop strategy then experiment and move into pyramiding..

why to not do it the other way..

imagine trying to breakeven but building into losses hoping for redemption.. why not let these moves help your account?

there is the illusion that if you have deep pockets dollar costed averaging into losing positions can be traded successfully... this bank was bankrupted by it barings bank..

essentially increasing intial risk .. without allowing potential profit.. panic trading.. the average trader on here goes through this probably 4 times..

When levels like that co inside they should not be ignored.
not much of a believer in fibs but .. nice short at 135 i took the next break down after the 135 held 134.95 stp 12 pips the reason was to use the 135 as a barrier for my stop..
