I think I just made my broker mad, they are not letting me take 2 trades I had for setups here, I guess I need to make a call and talk with them and ask why they are not letting me enter at these prices??
This has not happened to me in a long time, and when it does, it gets me thinking things.
I wanted a long on GU at 17 when we found support on the 1 tick, was going to take a 2 to 3 pip gain, but had larger lots on it.
Still not really sure how you guys are picking the areas/patterns to trade but it's definitely inspiring seeing you killing it everyday regardless of a trend or not, keep up the good trading. Any tips for learning how to pick the patterns or areas besides just a lot of chart time? Anything specific I should be looking for?
Put a trend line on a 3 hour chart and see how many times there is a reaction at those points
for me it seems a bit more often
generally if it passes down through in a hurry it will retrace back and then continue on its journey southwards or north if it going up
only a theory but if you watch the ticker creeping from 62 it moves in slow bursts to 50 bounces around and creeps to 49 48 at 47 stop losses are being hit which forces it to around 41 42 then trades are eyeing it going south so they start shorting it and the big money is waiting at 38 and up it goes

the 50s arnt as big a mark as the 00s hence 12 13 pips at the 50s and 17 to 18 pips at the double zeros
complete theory but it makes a bit of sense to me
mind you someone no doubt will say what a load of shit

He has copped a bit of stick for naming it that but he did have a good take on chart patterns
not the usual head a shoulders etc but a bit more on random shapes that when you see them with his explanation makes a bit of sense

i have been doing this for 10+ years
you just start to see things after so many hrs looking at the screens
Thanks for the tips BigDawg and frenz. I was actually reading that thread earlier frenz, if it doesn't have to do with crazy indicators and is all about trading price I'm interested. I'll continue re-reading this thread and watching how you guys do it and hopefully find my own way of trading that I am successful with, back to lurking for now, thanks again.

I know there are lots of questions, but as Big D said, screen time.
Pick one time frame and focus on it for hours, days, weeks, and what happened to me YEARS.
I can see formations on every time frame, the 5 min is good for Big D, and I traded that for years, I like the 15 min, and sometimes I put a 1 tick to the entry points.
I recommend putting 4 hours a day just going through mega charts on the EU and looking for candle patterns, then after you see those, watch them live as they setup, I try to see the candle in progress for my expectation to where it is going.
Price action traders are the real traders to me.
I don't get into losers for hours or days, or even weeks, I am not putting a needle in the hay stack, I am pinpointing exact entries, and when they fail, I just get out with a small loss.
105 pips a week is no problem, usually I can accomplish that in a couple hours if I really wanted to, I like trading so it does not bother me to miss trades because I am still learning every day and I consider more time to get screen time.
I have but I don't think I took enough time to read over everything in as much detail as I should have. That's task number one for now and thanks for the tips N2, I know it's taken you two guys years to get where you are and I'm just hoping with enough work and chart time I can be trading consistently some years down the road.
