AxisODL anyone?

hi just wondering if anyone here uses the broker AxisODL ive been demoing them for a few weeks and all seems good just curious on feedback on them?

there the aussie set up of OLD I believe. I think FXCM just bought ODL?

so if that's the case trading with ODL will be trading with FXCM

Signing up to test them.
They are now independant of ODL (and FXCM) and offering excellent spreads.
Will report their performance

Hi All,

I work on the Sales Trading desk at Axis and saw this thread so thought I'd help answer the above queries.

We started out as a joint venture with ODL but have since gone our separate ways in order to provide our clients with the better service that comes with a fully autonomous, locally based broker.

As a result the FXCM takeover of ODL in the UK has no bearing on our business at all.

Following the takeover of ODL Securities in the UK by FXCM Holdings, announced 5 May 2010, AxisForex wishes to announce that the joint venture arrangements with ODL have terminated as of 30 April 2010. The Australian operations will remain with AxisForex and local clients will experience seamless continuity of service. Support operations, previously run from the UK offices of ODL, were migrated to Australia in March, including the transfer of IT and server functions. A change of trading name to “AxiTrader” will shortly be brought into effect.

“We will maintain our dedication to personalised customer service and continue to maintain counterparty relationships with key market participants, including FXCM / ODL,” said AxisForex Chief Executive Mr. Goran Drapac. “We will continue to provide some of the most competitive spreads in the regional marketplace, excellent products, service, trading support and education for our clients. “The full independence of AxisForex will have a positive impact on the Australian operation; creating greater control over execution, pricing and client support.”

I contaced Axis Trader last week and signed up with a live account. I will soon fund it and start trading with them. So far the demo works very nicely (when it comes to execution speed and spreads).

Last time I checked the spread was noticeably bigger than Go markets and the minimum balance was a lot higher.

huh the spread is round about the same if your worried about .5 of a pip then i dont know what to say

Yes spreads are the same and min. account is $1000. I think everyone can afford that. And if you're serious about trading you'll need plenty more cash than that anyway...

My live account is open now. I put on a few test trades and execution time is very good so far. Spread is very good too. I talked to customer service several times today. They are all very friendly, helpful and professional.

good to know cencored you trading just fx or u gunna have a go at the cfds to?

Only fx for now, but will trade some indices in the near future as well.

I've posted the link to the demo account below (hopefully the moderators don't class it as spam!) so that you and any other members can take a look at the service for yourselves.

There is no strict minimum deposit but we normally advocate at least $1000 if you are going to trade mini and standard lots. From experience, smaller accounts than this generally aren't capitalised enough and can be subject to margin calls in times of volatility. We would far rather that you make profits and trade with us for far longer - not only are you more likely to recommend us, we'll earn more money from your custom and trading volumes!

There are multiple leverage options on the account ranging from 50:1 to 400:1 depending upon account size. All index and commodity cfds on the platform are defaulted to 100:1 however.

cool so are whats axis's terms on scalpers news traders and such? i'm not one myself i know a lot of ppl here like scalper friendly brokers and they like trading the news?
