Sorry, yes Im in. Got pulled in a few hours ago and have been managing trade so not watching forum. So far pretty anticlimactic honestly...was expecting a some better action than this. Kind of frustrating...
All I ask for is a chance to prove that money cannot make me happy.

Fingers crossed that everyone reading IFR agrees that AU is on its way to 0.9330. I understand what you're saying, if your trade hits TP now then you're left with doubt as to whether you 'got it right' or were lucky. Whereas if price had done exactly what you expected quickly, you'd be confident in the cause of the effect.

Keep plugging mate.

EDIT: PS. If you zoom out to the daily, you can kind of see a difference between this trade and (maybe-I'm assuming) others that you've taken. When you're looking for a run in areas that lack interest it's going to be smoother sailing, whereas in areas like this, which are pretty pivotal, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Am I making sense?

I'm not trying to be condescending in any way, and I don't know if what I'm saying holds water, but it makes sense to me.

EDIT 2: Any thoughts on the downside? Ive only just got IFR open in the past few hours and so it wont display pre-NY open info until tomorrow. Depending on what the landscape to the downside is, it might be an idea to average your entry on pullbacks.

A thought about market efficiency...

A market is classed as efficient if all available information is reflected in price, but, surely for a market to be efficient every participant should be able to trade when they please. The ability to trade whenever one would like is less likely the larger the participants trades are... so, how did market efficiency ever even become a topic of heated conversation? It may take a Hedge-fund X hours to find the liquidity needed to make prices reflect their opinion.

Hmmm, seems I got caught up in the moment, on reflection the approach in this thread and the other 'order flow' threads doesn't seem to have any advantage over anything else really, including simple TA. The topic itself is interesting but if people want to trade some sort of order flow strategy then maybe there's more value in MP, at least traders seem to be having some positive results using it, and it's based on something of substance.

ok guys no market profil stuff.. no future data crap.. seriously stay on topic I use volume assited market profile to build positions in futures but non of that stuff works in FX.. its a spot market common.. also watching big players orders come in is irrelevant to this thread.. it cant be traded and being a trader is about making money... theoretical ramblings doesnt make money... your also wondering how this is orderflow.. wait.. there is only so much you can do at once... Im going to ask that things stay on topic.. if you wanna do theoretical orderflow stuff in here by all means but dont deviate to market profile and things that cant be backed up by proof.. for example if you wanna talk about a order type that processed or the EBS.. thats fine talking about vague things like big players and big dogs is useless. it wont make anyone be able to trade better.. ill be using the cleanup button now.. thanks

IMHO good old classic TA will show you all you need to make money.
The problem is, ( as I've read somewhere else) the boredom of waiting for the move to happen, (unless you play the fast TF's) and burning your eyes and general health from siting in front of a PC for hours and hours on end.
I don't know about you, but doing the above is my biggest problem of trading.
Classic S&R , and price behavior around these levels, is the key, IMHO, without pretending to be a hugely successful trader, however, knowing what to do, and actually doing it, with complete concentration all the time, is the difficult thing to do.
I think the answer is for two or three like minded traders taking turns from European open to US close, every two or three hours, itself not an easy thing to achieve.

Tried it, it doesn't work unless you know the other person really well and trust them to trade your account. I'm in UK and had a setup with a trader in the US to trade our respective sessions and holidays/time off. In theory it would have worked great but neither of us could relax, it was actually more stressful than sitting in front of the screens!

Anyway I'll leave Domino to get back on his track......
