Help with strategy tester please

I did an update to mt4 today and after I restarted the system and the computer, I can't back test any more, it looks like it's working but the orders are not taken. At the end there are no trades. any help will be appreciated.

Before last Christmas I had a similar problem. I hadn't used Stategy Tester for several weeks. I had the same problem with some pairs (FXCM Micro). On others it would ignore my date range and pick up a few ticks near the end of the data set. After jumping around different currency pairs I started changing the time frame to higher ones. I may done a few other things I don't remember. Then I changed the modelling type to tick and suddenly it started working again. I thought perhaps an software update had reset something on my workstation and I somehow managed to reset to work again. I didn't spend any time to do a followup diagnosis because I had to get things done for a deadline. I just want to state that I don't think it has anything to do with operating system and is MT4 specific.

I find that in general, my FXDD workstation strategy tester gives me far fewer problems than FXCM.

I tried that, but it's not working. The data is there but it doesn't take orders and the ea is fine.

Since the update to built 226 the mt4 strategy tester is a total mess. Any solutions?

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I can't get strategy tester to work on Windows 7 after upgrading to build 226. I even tried going back to an earlier build, but it still won't work.

I have downloaded all the history and still the tester works for some months and then stops. Please help.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I suspect you'll need to delete your .hst files in the history folder. Those history files have a header which I think wasn't updated for build 226.

I deleted those files, redownloaded the data and no problems thus far.
