I may have trouble getting online the next couple of weeks. China and the USA are getting into a fight over China's fixed currency rate. Since these stories are appearing on FF I am finding my access to this website blocked at times. If I dont post, it is not because I dont want to, it is because I cant get to this site. (For example my local USA paper sports writer wrote an article about Tiger Woods and how the Dali Lhama didnt know him. Now his sports blogs are blocked and I cant read his articles without a VPN or PROXY server). Appreciate your freedoms and having governments that allow their people to hear all sides of a story. I am having a very difficult time getting to this site lately without using a proxy or VPN. Sometimes my VPN wont work and other times the proxies are broken and I have to find a new one. It used to be easy to get to FF from China but I am having difficulties.

I have a request in the programming section for an indicator that will help us with back testing. An indicator that would show the exact price that a 6x6 cross occurred. This will help us decide while back testing exactly where a trade kicked in and wether price then moved far enough to get a BE set. Will let you know if anyone comes up with something.

Don't think they'll be able to create an indicator because we're using the median price but I had a little brain storm that should get us close to the exact price at cross. Run the EA through the strategy tester and see where the trade was made. Take a guess where this cross(fx solutions platform) occurred.

I am not quite sure what you are asking? Your ticket when it enters gives you the entrance price and time. The high or low of a candle would give you the most extreme price so you can check to see if it went the x # of pips. The NB exposure or iexposure indicator gives you the entrance price and the sell/buy line on your screen gives you the entrance price with the spread included. In back testing there is an arrow on the screen giving price and entrance and you would have to manually check it against the high and low. However, backtesting will use higher and higher TF the farther back in time you go so the less accurate the entrance price would be. Back testors dont use the variable spreads so they are not that accurate for what you what I think. Eye ball backtesting actually will give you the best results in this case if you want to stare at the screen all day.

I'm talking about looking back at 6x6 crossings, not present trades being made. Present trades show the entrance price,yes but if you look back say a year and see a cross, you can't tell exactly at what price the cross happened. You can eyeball some crosses and guess pretty closely what the price was at cross but if you get a cross on a long candle like in the chart I posted above, you have no idea. I may be wrong but I think the tester will be more accurate than trying to eyeball a cross like the one I posted above.

I think if you put a +20 TP it will tell if it hits the TP or not. Of course this will only count for the first trade because the EA will reenter and that info will do you no good after that. My eyeball testing and demo live testing showed me you get fewer false entrances as compared to the 3x3 but you will still get some misses. Dont think you will ever undo that, you will always get some.

My belief is that all EAs use indicators and all indicators do not predict news stories or strong fundamentals and need monitoring or human intervention. No matter what indicators we use sooner or later the market will move in a way that will defeat them. Having some knowledge of fundamentals is important to Forex trading. For example, If Greece files bankruptcy or the USA and China get into a pissing match over exchange rates, no indicator can predict the outcome or change of direction either when or how much. Indicators have limitations and if you understand those limitations they are valuable tools in trading. For example, if Greece goes bankrupt sell Euros no matter what the indicators are saying.

All I'm saying is, if you run this EA through the tester( and I agree it's not completely accurate) it tells you there was a cross at 163.21 on that candle in Aug. of 08 and price moved far enough to set a BE with a BE at +20 setting. I'd have no idea what price was at cross by eyeballing it. I'm really liking this 6x6 setting in conjunction with the trade manager. Great work Bob.

300 pips yesterday and i was sloppy not taking the profits on the eur/nzd and chf/jpy. They both had nice runs and thought they would keep going but they retraced and lost it. Maybe should have put a +50 0n them or something. But still a decent day. hmmmmm will think about that one.

Alternatives: the aud/jpy, eur/jpy, are all similiar so choose one. The Aud/jpy is not as volatile as the gbp/jpy if you want less movement but still like some volatility but it will do long trends more. The most important thing is you dont want to be heavily investment into any one currency. If the EUR/NZD is too volatile for your tastes you can replace it with nzd/chf or nzd/jpy. I just happen to like the eur/nzd pair and the way it flies around the chart.

Most volatile pairs: eur/nzd and gbp/jpy can be replaced with aud/jpy nzd/jpy nzd/chf for less volatility. __________________

I changed the +5 to +10 and reenter every 20 instead of 15 to see how it would do. Picked up a nice 100 pips. I have discovered a problem and not sure how to fix it. When you have a 2nd level trade and it goes for the +10 on the MPTM the EA on L2 will also close the 1st level trade. So the Eur/aud and eur/usd trade closed the 1st level trade when it closed the 2nd level trade of +10. Then it opened a new trade (the new trade is not a problem but closing the first level trade is). Now if you enter the 2nd level and turn the EA off you dont have the problem because with the MPTM you will only close one trade but with the EA on it will close both trades. Will have to see if I can solve that problem. So I had a losing day even though under normal conditions I would not have. Right now I will have to turn the mptm off during 2nd level trades or turn the EA off but sometimes I am not there during the 2nd level entrance and TP on the MPTM. The MPTM is not the problem but the EA is. You can see the EUR/NZD I was able to turn off the EA and the MPTM did score a +10 without closing the 1st level trade.

I am trying out an EA that will only close the trade the MPTM is closing so we will see how it works. I am using it for my 2nd and 3rd level entrances. If it works it wont close the 2nd or 3rd levels. If it doesnt I probably will end up posting some unnecessary losses tomorrow. That wont be the system fault but using the MPTM will get more complicated. It will probably mean using more MPTM than one. Each one using a different magic number. So level 1 will have magic number of 11 and you will need an mptm for it and 2nd level magic number will be 12 and you will need a mptm for it. I hope I wont need to do that. The mptm is giving me pip bonus every day.

This passage is responsible for the multiple close of all open trades with the same Symbol and MagicNumber!!
If you delete that Closing-Part of the EA it will only open trades and do not close any trade.

With the MPTM-EA you can use the "ManageByTicketNumber" instead of "ManageByMagicNumber".

That's strange. I had a level 2 closed by the manager last night on a buy EUR/USD and it didn't close my L1 trade on that pair. I used a different magic number on the L2 trade. You changed the magic number for the EA on your chart for the next cross, right?

Bob, Another L2 trade (buy GBP/USD) closed on my platform today when it backed up to my BE and left my L1 alone. So I don't know why it's not doing the same thing for you. Was your trade a buy or a sell? Mine were both buys.

It has happened several times but I have fixed the problem, I think. Are you using the new EA or the old one which has multi level trades. I am using the multi level trade one so it closes all trades if you close one. I just reset that number in the code so it doesnt close all and it seems to be working fine now. The Eur/NZD went 2nd level and then the 2nd level at 2 MPTM closes at +10 and now is 40 some pips to the good. I am really beginning to love this MPTM. It punishes brokers that like going after SL. Cant decide which is better +5 or +10. It is picking up a lot of extra pips here and there every day and they are beginning to add up. My modem went out on my home computer today so I am at the office. I wont be able to post results until I get the new one in. I probably missed several entrances and MPTM trades because of it.

I'm using the latest version you posted in post #1172. Max. trades set to 1 and I change the magic number once EA is on the chart when I want it to reenter on the next cross. It's too early to tell whether I like using the manager on the second level trades. So far it's kicked me out at BE+5 on the L2 trade where without the manager I would be have been out of the trade with both levels by now.
