Looking at them, I see some of the robots here appear to have ecn support because there is the usual input plus details appear on screen.

This is purely because I forgot to remove reference to this from whatever robot I adapted to whatever system it was adapted to trade. Yet another example of my lack of attention to detail, I am afraid. There is no actual ecn support in any of the robots here, whatever the screen feedback might say.

Hello Steve,

Do not be so hard on every ecn/stp criminal. For example,
Gomarkets is a very good broker fo me. I have had not one trade
that was not executed and I have had no issues with them. Great customer service as well. They are not an ecn but they are a stp
broker and robots on them will need to use 2 step process for trades
to be made. If you have time on your hands I do suggest to check them
out. Then the best of the brokers will soon be offering mt4 and that is Dukascopy at least in my opinion. There are other good usa ecn brokers
but they are restricted by the idiotic nfa rules so that is why I only list gomarkets for now. Again this is my opinion only.

Yes Jeff, and what happens the first time you or one of your robots sends an unprotected trade, followed by an immediate disconnect from your broker for a couple of hours, followed by an immediate plunge against your trade?

You know as well as I do that the dictum, "If it can happen and it is bad for you, it will happen" is true. Accepting ecn is clear lunacy on the part of the trader and I will not encourage it.

Agree, and yes steve I know how you feel about ecn brokers, although I believe your feelings to be unwarranted. But to each their own
I thought maybe you could add the code you have on your other bots, as it seems to work on ecn brokers fine, and I'd love to help with testing these other bots of yours as well.
My problem with testing on non-ecn brokers, there are non left that I would trust live money to. Take for example the eglobal one you like to run on cents. I have yet to see anyone actually claim they have been able to make a withdrawal from eglobal. And the ONE person I know who is actually trading with them, put in for a w/d request two weeks ago and has still not heard back. Needless to say, this along with some pretty crappy reviews from fpa on them, why would I want to demo on a platform I'd never trade live?
The only brokers that I would ever trust to put live money in, would be fxdd, gomarket and broco. Only because on each of these, I have made w/ds from them without any issue at all.
Fxdd i won't trade anymore because spreads aren't great, plus fighting with the no hedging/nfa bullshit.
Both gomarket and broco are ecn, so that leaves out running some of your bots for me.
I agree with jeff, I have 3 gomarket live accounts, 1 micro and 2 nano accounts, and I have NEVER had a problem with slippage, trade context busy, anything other than total instant fills even when manual trading. Cannot find anything bad to say about them, unlike most other places.
Anyhow, enough of my rant, I know there's no changing your mind about these types of things in any reasonable timeframe, so I'll just wait until you might come around someday (i remember you saying the same thing when 5 digit pricing started, took you awhile but now you are coding for 5dig and not 4dig
pfgbest, mbtrading, broco, gomarket, duksascopy, all very well liked brokers with no typical bucket shop games, all of which cannot be run without two step order processing

Good points Taz . Steve you are a champion for calling out the "criminal" brokers yet your stuff only works on said criminal brokers?Ii dont understand that . But thanks for all your hard work nontheless

Not quite sure how much clearer I can make this, but I will try.

Non-ecn crims do everything in their power to separate us from our cash. The do at least allow us to send a stop loss with out trades, so that when the scenario I have described umpteen times occurs we will stop out of the trade eventually, even after the crim has buggered around with the level at which our stop is allowed to work.

Ecn crims do not even offer that minimal safegard. Ecn crims have taken criminality one step beyond that of non-ecm crims. Their behaviour is even more criminal. Breathtaking.

Even more astonishing is that some of you guys appear to fall for this.

Have I finally managed to make myself clear? A few two-syllable words here, I know, but I have tried to avoid using too many.

Now, I am starting to get irritated here. You guys can witter on about ecn crims as much as you want.

I shall ignore these witterings.

Hi
Im testing Asian breakout EA today. Now time is 07.10 GMT and my local computertime is 08.10 (Sweden). I have changed that in EA properties and put EA on a EURUSD chart. EA is monitoring "Trading suspended-outside trade hours. Continuing to monitor open trades." If I press F3 EA told me High/low for AUDUSD but nothing about the other pairs. EA is from zip file on page 1 from yesterday.
DonŽt think I do something wrong.

Edit: It waked up 08.00 GMT 09.00 Local time. My setting is 08.00. On monitor is has high/low for AUDUSD, for the other pairs it show high/low 0.000 so something must be wrong

Session breakout
Do the right thing

We should see fewer stop loss failure error messages and the sl move to break even +- BEP should be more reliable.

Sorry guys, but the BEP thingy I just posted about in the scoobs thread affects the robots I listed in the earlier post. These need re-downloading if you use, or think you might use, a 4 digit crim.

I know you don't want to talk about it, but to the others:

I conjecture the reason for the two-stage order is technical on their end, in that one can get a multi-part fill at various prices with an ECN and dealing with a partially hit stop which happened upon order fill is too complicated and not really possible in MT4 architecture.

Of course one must use an order retry strategy for the modification for the 2nd stage and there is a slight possibility of a long disconnect. I wouldn't use ECN without an order handling library like mine (which will aggressively retry orders/modifications to handle frequent transient errors).

Fantastic

Open trades up more than 10%. But its a long way to "Exit second half when price breaks below 50 SMA by 10 pips". I guess this system is really good when the pairs trend!

About Session breakout...I do a new test tomorrow with the latest version. (I understand exactly how to set my local time!)

Does session breakout work for everybody, am I the only one with the problems in post 588?

Things are a bit quiet in this thread, must mean everyone's too busy watching their accounts increase !!

Seriously though I'm just posting to say that all my demo's except Asian BO are flying along at the moment.

The 2MA MACD multi pair is set at Max Trades 17 (all pairs ) and is well up.

The 5 Min MoMo multi pair is also set at 17 and is going like a rocket. I have full close enabled and BEP + 10 pips at the moment and it deinitely seems to take more profit. I might tweak the BEP + a little and see how it goes. Unfortunately analysing the results are giving me a headache as since I launched it on the 18th March its taken over 350 trades !!

Anyone else getting good results ?

Mixed results here too, as you can see. The only successful one is 5mm. The pic is of my demo trades on my coding machine, but 5mm has been doing ok on my live account on the 1H chart.

You are right about the close full trade at the original breakeven, half-close point. The moment I started doing this on the live account, the profits increased dramatically. The demo is still half-closing.

Shall I add the full-close feature to 2ma macd combo?

Hi Steve. If its not too much trouble, it would give user discretion as to closing.
Looking at my trades it's a bit difficult to know at the moment but it's definitely worth checking out.

Both the 2MA MACD multi pair and the 5 Min MoMo multi pair are performing well and it looks like 2 small live accounts are in the wind for next week !! I'll wait for the end of the weeks reckoning before jumping the gun.

Talking of going live and my inexperience with EA's added to the fear of wipeout, is it possible to stop an EA trading based on the size of your balance i.e say 50% or whatever just as a safeguard for when your not monitoring.

my results are good, too (5 mm multipair). I think IŽll kick EURAUD and EURCAD (maybe EURCHF) out because these pairs produced losses. Same by you? I read that youŽve 17 pairs running. Which pairs did you add? In the original version are only 15 pairs.

Sorry you're right only 15 pairs, I did drop 2 pairs the other day CADJPY and GBPJPY but they got re-added when I downloaded the latest version so cocked up the count.

I was looking through my results with a casual eye and I don't think it makes much difference as some losses are showing on all pairs as you'd expect so I'm happy to leave the lot run at the moment and will try some more in depth analysis at the weekend before going live.

Maybe someone has added some more pairs. That would be interesting to know about. I suppose the more the merrier in one respect, but I think 15 is plenty at the moment !!

Just back to this, at the moment the 2ma macd is really tearing along with its second half trades. These would have been missed with an early full close.

Patience is a virtue so I'm told !!

I like the fact that this EA will follow a trade better due to T/F and strategy and when it catches one it makes up for the smaller trades.

I'd leave it do it's job and grab the pips with the 5 min momo.

Still, no harm having the option to close fully is there ?

Anyone else with an opinion ?

This last MACD Combo multi pair seems to have a problem; it does not run and when compiling it, there comes this message

'BEO' - variable not defined

Or do I have the problem instead?!
