I have a couple more questions for you when you get a moment. I believe you mentioned that you are Texas, Central time? How do you manage trading London hours? I am in California, and currently I am only placing trades from about 6am PST to about 11am. Are you working graveyard? Just curious you handle this.

Another question is what pairs do you trade? I am assuming you have a selected list and you prep all with your fib strike lines at the beginning of the week and daily? How do you approach your weekly, daily, hourly planning? I have been working on flushing out this process on my end, but still needs some room for improvement.

I'm based in the UK (8hrs ahead of PST) so typically trade late London session and US session.

I personally watch 10 pairs (I believe Kiss uses a similar amount) and in addition 4 commodities, Gold, Brent, Copper and Silver.

No to tread on Kiss's toes in his own thread but I use the weekly and daily to define major SR and then breakdown in to the 4h, 1h and 15m for entry and exits based on PA in these zones. I'm not a trend trader, I often counter trend but never trade right in to a trend line.

Thanks for your input Bleek. I am finding out many things about myself as I am getting serious about this business. One of them is that I get easily overwhelmed. This is why I am so drawn the simple approach on J16 and Kiss's organized approach. But, I find myself spread out a bit thin with the amount of pairs I am currently trying to keep up with, about 10 or so. I want to try and reduce this number to a handful for now.

I trade most of the dollar and yen crosses. I get up at 4am central time. I love California but would hate to live there if I traded forex. Ideally for us would be the east coast but home is home right? I do all my prep on Sunday nights. I use the weekly bars for bias. If the weekly bar is neutral Ijust watch the PA on hr ad 4 hr. Best 4hr setups are chosen from feeds that close at different intervals. I use IBFX, FXPro and Alpari.

This is pretty much how I do it. 15 min is a challenge for me. I do dial down there from time to time. The important thing to note is that we all will eventually find what works for us based on our personality. I could fire off 100% winners and post them here but I would dare say that the majority of those following couldnt duplicate tha success until they have trained themselves for a few years. Feel free to ask me anything anytime guys. I have enjoyed it. Ya'll have agood day I am going fishing for a while.

If you stick to daily charts you should have no problem keeping up with 5-10 pairs, or just stick with the major 3 or 4 to start with.

Anything sub 1hr is very subjective so avoid until you're comfortable, to be honest I only really look at 30 and 15m when I'm bang on an SR and want to make sure I'm entering/exiting 'right'. I'm still learning everyday!

Kids were not catching anything so we ae back home. Much confluence at 1.37. BRN, long side fib off weekly range, and the 618 retrace from yesterdays range and a valid three touch trendline in place. PA will give me an entry somewhere around there.

A fellow came up today with some nice Crappie and a large mouth bass. We just didn't get a bite. The kids did well yesterday at the same spot though. We'll try again tomorrow. I'll try to post the pic here of the gentleman with the bass.

Nice! Here in CA, that bass is considered huge! My daughter caught a 6 pound largemouth bass two years ago and it was a family record.

Entered EURUSD at 720 long and got stopped out. I should have waited fro the lower 660 level.

I don't know if you touch trade or not but I just don't anymore. I will wait for confirmation and then make up the money with a little higher return per pip. It works out the same for me. I just couldn't ever get the hang of touch trading and do not want to subject my account to my "guessing".
Location is king I know but location with PA is a wise king.

I had a daily (and weekly I think) at just above 700 so placed a limit order long, I knew it'd get hit whilst I was sleeping last night, half expected it to retrace 666 and it did - shame I didn't go with my instinct hey! I use tight stops (~30-40)

I placed an order at 666 but I think I missed the boat... typical.

If I ask myself the question, "what went wrong", I can tell you I was impatient and tried to get in early 'just in case the long went without me' when in reality I expected a retrace to 660 but brushed it to the back of my mind.

I'm with you on the patience thing. Here is an example. I thought I might get in this trade at the break of th pin last hour but waited until the next bar formed instead. I used to could not do that. I had to be in at the first tiny sign of reversal. No on hourly many times I want a bar that closes above the low bar in the swing. In this case the pin that formed and a nice one at that. The quandry for me here is that the price is on the short side of the daily and weekly market. Nevertheless, I am long because of the divergence and the well formed bar. I'll be at 1/2 normal risk.

And as if by magic my 3666 has been touched and I'm now long at a small profit. Target ~3800. Trailing ST 50.

Lost 35 pips from 720... being an impatient idiot!

Been there and still miss the mark more often than I want to. I can't help but wonder if today the Dow is going to break out above it's high mark set back in Oct 2008. If that happens our longs should reward us. I am still waiting for long signals on some yen crosses.

I really struggle to watch all my pairs at work, the screen on the iphone is small and I can't get my 'home' large charts with my SR and PPZs on it!

No rush, I'm not ready to go full-time yet anyway, it's my goal.

USD looks like it's hitting long term resistance so could turn the Euro around, Oil had a good charge long but has faltered. Euro to me looks like it has some movement north past 800 and possibly on to 1.4 at which point my shorts will come in to play.
