This makes sense to me in terms of what I've been thinking about for some time: That I need to "invert" my thinking when it comes to looking for opportunities. I do okay playing "defense" (the timing and defining trades is easy) but, it's too easy to have small gains erased, and more, once the pretty much inevitable happens - the hunters make their move. Timing your move to get on board with them eludes me though.

I guess once you have a bit of knowledge you can tell if someone is full of crap or not, we can never know if he is a good trader, or if anyone is, without a statement. But I remember Skunny posting a statement (could have been from anything though) so not even that.

Darkstar,

Do you, in some way, "measure" the strengh of the battle between hunters and option defenders?

In the example you presented, the defenders were able to win the battle for 3 days (friday to tuesday). Instead, if they were able to defend their position for a week or more, with price ranging in a small interval, say 100 some pips, the probability of a cascade when the break occurs is bigger? If yes, why?

When do you consider the defenders to be the winners?
If prices breaks the last important low (keeping with your example), if price goes down x amount of pips from option barrier, etc..

Your going to have to do some of the work yourself. Or wait for the book.

I think everyone wants this . That is one of the problems I had with FTI's thread as well... DS has a lot of experience and his own way of trading and the same with FTI. I think this experience and self confidence helps a lot with gaining things from FTI's thread.

I meant, when is the battle considered to be finished? I imagine during the life of an option there can be 1,2,3 or more battles?

Sometimes in the beginning you don't understand why you are being taught or made to do things a certain way. Hence the stories and parables to frame your mind into a way of thinking and looking at things. Then adding steps a little bit a time.

There was another story about an apprentice that wanted to learn to carve jade and every day the master would give him a piece of jade to hold and do all these task. Anyways, the story is out there somewhere. The point being it takes time to gain experience and understanding.

When it expires untouched, or when it gets touched, whichever comes first. Thats for a Knock-Out Option I think but im no expert.

Didn't you realize yeat that there is no straight way. In small nuances is where the knowledge lives.
