Just about says it all, is that short for BULLSHIT BROKERS!!!!!!!!

Those spreads should be illegal like a 80% credit card.

My live broker has 23 of the 28 majors pairs. I use a formula (based upon many factors including ADR, pair price, and spread) to rank the pairs from most-desirable-to-trade to least-desirable-to-trade. Not surprising, GBPJPY, EURJPY, AUDJPY, and GBPUSD are at the top of the list. AUDNZD and EURCHF are at the bottom.

With a spread of 7-9 pips and an ADR of 87 pips, that's approximately 9% of the daily movement paid in spread. For these "short-term trades", that's too much to pay for the chance to trade AUDNZD.

If I were trading commercially with those spreads then I would have been selling the big issue years ago.

On the flipside - Nordmarkets appears to have lesser criminal intent with very competitive average spreads. Most of the majors hovering around 0.5 pip ATM.

I know I promised to stick to what is relevant, but when you touch on a subject I am passionate about, I can not resist. Please see attached
On top is a criminal based in cyprus 25 pip spread, below that is a UK based criminal 9pip spread, image taken at the same time around 16:05 GMT. Need I say more. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

so even when system meet a few SL, it won't wipe out the winning instantly like before.

the wholesalers/liquidity providers = banks are happy, esp. if we are taking hundreds of bot trades at any spread, no matter the size. Spread makes not much diff. in that case. It's like a dream for them: gone to heaven. The more the merrier....

Spread is one ESSENTIAL issue! it is not distracting at all. In fact, to the systems on this thread, it is absolutely concerned.

AI.mq4, the EA scoob provide in Jan, is a Holy Grail, if trading EurUsd without spread. I backtested (not using MT4, very strict programming) AI using 9 years 1-minute data trading EurUsd, assuming there is no spread. The performance is a direct line pointing sky. However, when 2 pips spread added in. it is just a flip-coin.

I hate to involve too much 1,2,3+-*/ here. but 2 pips spread can easily kill AI's 10 pip TP, 5 pip SL set-up. Now imagine how those 10 pip spread kill this thread's EA's 25 pip TP, 100 pip SL (i mean old version, but same logic).

So getdown, what do you think of these brokers with 0.5 pip for EurUsd? like Nordmarkets or IamFX. If they are consistent, then AI.mq4 could be a king trading with them.

FxPro boasts 0.5 pip spread, but seemingly in fact 1 pip on myfxspreads.com.

Yes, the trade volume is the key issue. Any spread, no matter how small, is like reverse compound interest to the brokers/banks if there are hundreds of trades.

100% accuracy system!!!! And infinite RR 1:0 = $1 wins 100% of the time:$0 losers (no need for a stop loss, LOL, at all, just hedge all the trades net at wholesale prices) * thousands of times * thousands of traders * each trading 3 bots 24 hours/day.

Just takes time * thousands of traders, each trading bots.

Can build the Pyramids of Giza out of this.

Your welcome. That one is the Dog's Bollocks one. I have testing around with that one, so at the moment there is a $ -8.50 for the week. I still need to close the remaining trades. Seems like it is possible to have a good gain towards beginning of week, and have it all gone at closing time? I wonder how many of those we close at closing time on Friday or Saturday would actually be winners if let run at end of week?

Hi Steve,

I noticed in demo testing of TCF v2 on some brokers I get error 130 (invalid stops). Since its not sending a SL or TP with the orders, could this be because TradePrice needs to be normalized?

I do not think this is a bug. Look earlier in the code and you will find that TradePrice is normalized when calculated at pending trade price calculation time.

2 things..

1) changing useH1ATRrt to true and changing usem15ATRrt to false with the trend retracement EA has done wonders for today's trading. seems much better .. lets see what next week holds for us

2) is it possible incude a lots parameter so we can select how many lots we want to trade in the next version of THG (if possible)

Yes, mine on demo finished the week strongly also. If it continues, then great. If not, then time to set useH4ATRrt to true instead. We shall see.

You can easily adjust it within the code by simply increasing/decreasing the lot divisor. I think Scooby likes to use a 50000 divisor, if I´m not mistaken. For higher lots, reduce this number; for lower lots, increase it.

Scooby may put a user-defined input, but you know he doesn´t like us mortals to meddle with the settings , so we must find some way to go around.

I am used to being given strict trading limits for a reason.

Otherwise I would be trading 9999 lots with other peoples money.
