Dislikedcould there be a reason for us all getting totally different results with these EAs. I am using an FXDD demo and my results are NOTHING like those described in the thread for the majority of these EAs..
Any ideas..Ignored
DislikedTo me the one that seems most broker-dependent from my own testing right from when this thread started and also observing and comparing others' results, is the Original BOJ. For some people it is working very well live. For others it seems to work well on demo, but not on live. And for others it does not seem to work well on either. Personally, this has led me to be cautious about using this one myself live - even though the underlying method and coding are probably the most rigorous of all the bots in this thread.Ignored
DislikedVersion 2.3 will simply close all trades - eventual winners as well as losers after a settable time delay - which may not be profitable longer term ... IMHO Attached is record so far ...Ignored
DislikedThanks Macman. Yes I know how 2.3 works with the Trade Expiry settings. After 2 months of demo testing (not a long time I know) I am going to try an expiry time of 5 hours and see how that works.
But judging by the mixed bag of results with different Brokers, it could be like pi**ing in the wind! We'll see.Ignored
DislikedNo problem.
My concern is that by using a cut off time some of the past winners would have ended up as losers,Ignored
DislikedNo worries and thanks for your advice. It's true, some winners but not many. From my results, if using a 5 hour cut-off time, from a total of 79 trades, 4 winners would have been missed, but more importantly (as a losing trades pip amount far outweighs a winning trades pip amount) 4 losers would have been cut short for a substantially smaller loss.
Also, just because the trades are closed after X number of hours, that doesn't mean they are going to necessarily close in a negative. The trades could close in positive territory, partly on the way to...Ignored
DislikedPlayng from memory, I am fairly sure it was getdown who first posted about using mptm to cut trades short after a certain period, and saying that this had cut the number of big losers down a lot, or something like that. This is why there is the trade expiry time feature in 2.3.
For sure, he is still nagging privately about adding differential expiry times for buy and sell baskets.
Was that you, Nick? Are you still using time limits on the trades?
