A lot of drawdown on these bots (other that the original). Is there way of eliminating these?

Ok... all on Demo:

Max's Bot: Between friday and today, (with default 0.4 lots) made $150 but DD is -$6000

Zoogle's version of Scooby's bot: with 0.2 lots, made $700 but
DD is -$900 ( not too bad actually)

The holy grail (v1.4) was actually ok. it was trading 0.8 lots and made around $500 today. I closed these out manually.

Me not playing with Scoobs' trend-detection function was never going to happen. I have wanted something like this for ages and was going to look into BS's 3 ma trend detection but Scoobs sent me on a slightly different direction.

'Scooby-doo Trend Retracement auto trading robot' is available in post 1. It spots the trend, waits for a retrace then uses ATR to govern all further decision taking. Details right at the bottom of the post.

octomanoak has emailed his update to the BOJ Original user guide - also in the trading robots zip in post 1.

steve.. the indicator's folder is on post one, but the the robot's folder (with the trend retracement robot) is missing..

I recommend not trading exotics, the spread makes the risk/reward ratio unappealing.

hey zoogle - are you talking about your version of the bot? With your version i am trading the base currencies and G7 crosses only.

Out of interest, have you had better luck over the past few days?

Yes. I'm trading G7 and pacific crosses excluding nzd/cad, aud/nzd. Max drawdown today was around 1.5%, currently have 1.5% locked in, floating positions around breakeven.

your wisdom is absolutly needed here. This morning, i saw none replied to Max yet, thought I might give a try.

but my coding always cause problem, so I simply turn to your script, and transplanted into Max's 514b version.

i add a Print() to verify the readings of the function, but seemingly I cannot get the correct reading.

I basically keep your void calcMACD_BB(), could you please take a look at the code to see if I did anything wrong when adding your code into the EA?

absolutely !

i think those eurnzd, gbpcad, and xxxzzz pairs with 8~20 spread are simply not tradable for intra-day system.

if there is an EA could trade audchf profitably intraday, I cannot think of a reason why not using the EA to trade major pairs.

however, i understand it is meaningful to test these weird pairs performance. but not advisable on live account.

You're making it too difficult. The calcMACD_BB function I provided should be copied as is to the EA - there is no need to change it. See attached file for example implementation (I did not test this).
