Im beginning to think that the 5min Momo is not suitable for the xxxjpy pairs, seems they're too volatile.

Steve,

Just a quick question. How difficult would it be to have the MoMo set a certain price.

i.e. Criteria are met. Say its a buy, then current price LESS 10 pips. Everything else the same.

Because what I am noticing is the price generally bounces down, and leaves the trade in the red, before, if at all it, moves back towards the tp.

Its just a question, as I know you're busy with everything else.

P.S. I do think it is still early days to start changing the strategy. The good thing about this system is that a large number of trades are placed so lets have at least a few hundred trades then we can import it into excel and then see what pairs are good and which are not MOMO friendly so to speak.

One thing you should bear in mind is that Schlossberg states that this system is not good for pairs which have very narrow or very wide trading range. I think we should wait till at least end of this week then compare notes.

My 5 min momo is still in profit but took a beating last night. It was the xxxJPY pairs, I have 3 loaded, That might be something to look at.

I looked at my demo account and mine is in loss although had 52% winning and 48% losing trades. I have the setting on default. As I mentioned before since this system places a large number of orders (due to short time frame) it may be an idea for everyone who is testing this EA to post their results on friday evening. Then we can analyze the data using excel to see what pairs are most profitable, etc. We can do the same next week and week after (to test different market conditions). If you are using different settings this should be mentioned as well.

I think this EA has legs but the entry, S/L, T/P etc, may need to be refined.

Yen pairs are high ranging therefore you need to look at the trend of each XXXJPY in multiple timeframes otherwise you will blow your SL's and/or account, especially opening/trading them in Tokyo session.

Thanks for stopping by Scoobs. We need all the help we can get. After what you just posted ,I may shut this bot down during the Tokyo session and see if that helps it.

Scoobs has shown us again and again that xxxjpy pairs can hurt us badly if we do not know what we are doing (more than other pairs).

It seems you, I and sundog are the only people testing this EA. Therefore, it would be really helpful that we get a comprehensive set of figures. I think you should consider leaving the BOT running during Tokyo as well (maybe disable xxxjpy pairs); however, I think what scoobs meant is that it is volatile in any case but more so during Tokyo hours. Do not forget once we have a few hundred set of figures then we can sort the data in a variety of ways (i.e. sort by pairs, sort by time, etc). Then if Scoobs happens to pass by he may be kind enough to have a look at the data and give us his very much valued opinion.

Astral, that sounds like a good plan. I'll disable my xxxJPY pairs during the Tokyo session. Also let me know how you export to Excel so all the data is the same style.

Just let me know if you want any help with the Yen pairs.

Most commercial traders stay well away from them.

Profits can be huge but so can the losses if you happen to be on the wrong side of the BOJ traders.

The reports are in html format, so a simple copy and paste into excel will do the job. The only snag is that MT4 reports time and date in one cell so we can sort by time and not date unless we insert a column and type the date ourselves. Since we are all using Mt4 the format will be the same.

HaHa, Someone may fall for that one.

Once some poor fool made the mistake of asking Steve for which pairs and t/f is best for his MPTM. Obviously he had not read any of the posts and he was just going through the threads and asking the same thing. Thanks very much Scoobs. I do follow all your postings with great care and do not go into xxxjpy without taking note of your directions in the main thread.

Will be most grateful if you could have a look at the results once we have a good set of data with these BOTs and let us have your thoughts.

well so much for me making fun of people misunderstanding the posts. Steve kindly provided us with the fix during the weekend so it should be Monday to Friday. I think we should leave the open trades alone and use the closed trades (mt4 report does that anyway) and take it a week at a time. 2 or 3 weeks should be more than sufficient.

I will add some trading hours features, so you testers can have separate instances of the momo running and disable trading for the JPY pairs.

sundog, it is the easiest thing in the world to add the option to place pending rather than market trades. I suggest you live with it for this week as is, then I will make the addition at the weekend if you still want it.
