Here are some opinions/observations that I have formed after trading for some time. All of these are based on personal experience. I will be adding notes here as time moves forward in order to more clearly explain/improve the trading experience of the "Fibonacci Strike Technique". Most of my personal experience has been guided by the great posters on Forex Factory. When I say "Great" posters I mean the oneswho have started threads that stand the test of time here. Many thanks to all of you.
1. Support and resistance are the best areas to look for price action.
2. Support and resistance change slightly over time as price breaches/violates/tests/penetrates these areas and causes them to become less reliable/detectable.
3. It is more advantageous to trade bar formations at swings that end at support or resistance areas.
4. It is even more advantageous to trade these at the break of said bar formations. (confirmation)
5. The 23.6 level on the Fibonacci tool has not been as useful a guide to me as the 0.0,38.2,50.0,61.8 or 100.0.

THE JIST OF WHAT I AM DOING HERE-K.I.S.S.Fan's Fibonacci Srike Technique

I am a price action trader and frequent theJames16 thread. They are my "other" family. My trading is based on the principles taught in that thread and on the Private Forum. I am not sharing this information on the J16 thread out of respect for the beginners and veteran traders there. This type of discussion (if anyone cares to join in) would clutter Jim's thread and possibly make it confusing to beginners. I owe that man so much that I'd never want to be responsible for taking any value from his work. I trade the hourly charts almost exclusively. I have evidence that support and resistance is best plotted by using the fib levels I will mention below. I am finding that there is no need to plot S/R the way I used to do it. I used to open a chart and then painstakenly plot lines on S/R and PPZ areas. I want to be crystal clear in my claims, I am not saying that to plot S/R or PPZ's the way I was taught was wrong. I am saying that it does not seem to be necessary in the method I am discussing here. The trader can be the ultimate judge. One other thing that is important for me to convey to anyone who might happen upon this material. I am developing this for my personal trading. The material here is all borrowed. I might just be assembling it a little differently that's all. There is no grail or new system here. I don't want anyone to think that I am in any way taking credit for this material. Again, thank you to all who have helped me over the years. You know who you are.


I am going to get started here:

FIB TOOL- I use these settings on my fib tool. -38.2, 0.0, 38.2, 50.0, 61.8, 100.0, 138.2

CHARTS USED for plotting S/R- Monthly, weekly, daily

TIMEFRAME TRADED-Hourly

On a monthly chart I plot my fibs with the levels mentioned above from thelow to high or high to low of the last closed candle. On a weekly chart, I plot my fibs with the levels mentioned above from the low to high or high to low of the last closed candle. On a daily chart. I plot my fibs with the levels mentioned above from thelow to high or high to low of the last closed candle. I use different colors and line widths for each time frame plotted. I do not plot daily fib levels for friday or sunday. I plot only mon, tues, wed, thurs. If you are following along, go back andlook at the S/R andPPZ's that you would have plotted. What do you see?

My chart looks like this when I plot monthly (maroon) and weekly (white) fibs. Today is Monday so I will add daily fibs at the end of today's trading day.

My entry method-I am looking for reversal set-ups on the 1Hr timeframe. I will only enter a trade between Midnight Central time and Noon central time on Monday through Thursday. I do not trade the Asain session. I will leave a trade open during that time as long as it has not met my criteria to close. A buy signal is evident with a close above the low bar of a swing low. This must also correspond with a fib level plotted on the monthly, weekly or daily TF. A sell signal is evident with a close below the high bar of a swing high. This must also correspond with a fib level plotted on the monthly, weekly or daily TF.

Exit- Stops are 20 pips below or above the entry bar. I will take profit depending on what the chart presents me. I usually will move my stops to break even at 40 pips profit.

About half of my trades turn into 40-100 pips profit. The other half are stopped at BE or for a loss. I am going to post each and every one of my Fibonacci Strike Trades here. I do not take all entry opportunities. I have some prefeences that I will explain as time provides.

What could I say more than you did, j16 thread is the most valuable thread from the internet, I submit to your engagement to not post anymore in his thread only if is not related with the basics,and I do more of advanced stuff, learned from my beginning of this journey.

here are some charts and a few thoughts

GBPJPY daily chart
Lets look to the hole sesion of today,and see why price played the way it did.
With the red arrow I have marked the point from where she turn around,don't forget that james teach us in his videos that every single high and low can be a possible reversal point,not allways is the case,
but with time and practice we can spot those points.

Look on the grey rectangle box how this area have been developed
-first we have 2010.02.12 high in place which is a minor resistance
-second we have a break of that area and a close above it
-the low from 2010.02.17 prove that new resistance becoming now new suport
-and again the process is repeting,break of support and now expecting to act as resistance which it did

on the 1h chart

we can see that rejection more clearly, red arrow signaling a PB

The next step is to find where are those critical points from where price can revers,so we can know how to protect ourselves.

On the 4h chart is a better view,we can see that we are fighting against a strong suport,to the left we can see ton of resistance that was taken out and now we have taste it for the 3th time,

I would like to see a clearly and a stronger rejection to this level to be proven as a solid support,thats why I thought that she will break thats why my enter would be just below that level, a few pips below PB

all the story is right on the charts,but this is just one way to see it

I give more weight to PA set ups on the white (weekly) and maroon (monthly) fib areas. I will post my trade on GBPJPY tomorrow if I get a valid signal.

Fibonacci Strike Technique--Not much "new" here. This one shows a solid rejection of price at the weekly high. I was able to get in safely on the break ofthe inside bar. I like to take profit at the 38.2 levels using Fibonacci Strike.

Not all my trades are based on PA,and if some setups are supported by PA they are not spotted in the common place where we would like to play them,at swings high/lows.There are others factors from where I decided to enter on this trades.

I grab clues from equity market,interest rates for direction, but everything you would ever need is right off of charts.

Althought my answer could be anoying to you,trust me it won't help you if I told you all the reson why I get in those trades,maybe you will get even more confused about all this stuff,if you do not master the basic and you jump to a higher degrees only because you see that this can give you others opportunities to trade it won't work.

I have been there too,and all the seniors guys told me the exact answers, and of course I get mad receiving these answers,but I decided to take from my time, to follow the requirement from post nr 1,and study-practice,study-practice.

I was so dedicate to this that at ends it pay off all the efforts,I haven't ask many question because I like to find the answer by myself, and this attitudine it has a huge benefits for me and it has for any new trader.

Is a marathon,there will be many ups and downs you must prepare yourself for this journey.

Here is what I look for bias wise on this method of reading the charts. Lets look at the GBPUSD 4hr. Remember I said that I look to higher TF's for bias. I have very litle doubt that 1.5341 will be tested very soon. I'd like to short at that level with a safe TP at 1.5159. (The 38.2 extension) The 1.5159 level would be a pretty safe bet if we get a bar like the one indicated in my second chart. (EUR CAD) I'll trade a bearish engulfing bar at a swing low if it convincingly plunges through a weekly/monthly low and closes on the other side. TP should be at the 38.2 extension and SL should be at the top of the engulfing bar.
