I was saying a month ago (not here, to friends) that US would hike official policy target before EOY. It might even be sooner. Expect it to have a very strong effect on AUD as US has been on 0.25 for longer than a year and a rise is seen as the start of a new rate cycle.

Hi all, Bit of a dilemma. Need a bot of help from experienced traders.
I went short on EU/US from 1.3760, and GBP from 1.5770.Havent closed either yet. I think that EU/US is heading much lower in the next few days and so is the GBP. What would you do, would you add, reduce, close or bring SL much closer to the price.
I am also short on DOW and Gold, but plan to keep those for a while yet wide SL.
Find a job that you love and you dont have to work again in your life.

whatever u do. do what makes you feel comfortable. there's always another day to open a new position.

I'm personally comfortable holding my positions, but won't be opening anything new till Monday

Thanks cloud, the thing is that what makes me feel comfortable today may make me feel different 2mrw. My gut tells me to add more to the position, but considering the ranges, the drop has been massive. Where will it stop? Did you trade last year when all currencies dropped agains the US?

yes. just wait till monday, you won't miss anything. everything will probably range today and piss u off.

I am in almost the same euro position as you, I have closed half today and am trailing a stop on the rest as I think there is room for more falls as well. My entry was 1.3775 and my current stop is 1.3620 if this helps at all.

today we have US news for core CPI m/m, let see the number, i believe, today the trend will be more waving, but i dont know how much will be moving.

thanks, My SL on EU is 1.3650, but that was from yesterday. GBP is 1.5550. If my astrological chart comes true ( if you remember we spoke about a 13 day up and 2 days retrace from 15th JAn), then the 2 days were up yesterday NY time. So we should have a nice fall on DOW. I think Cloud's suggestion is pretty reasonable to hold until Monday and see what pans out in the US tonight. Let me know what your plans are.

PS couldnt resist going short on AU/US as I was typing. A short is being formed from 8913. SL 8935. Going out for dinner will post chart when I come back. Good luck

My charts suggest there is a potential fall on for the dow tonight, fingers crossed. Not trading au yet waiting to see where it is come Monday.

I am holding EUR and Cable longs from 1.3580 and 1.5560 respectively.

If UK retail sales data surprises to the upside, we are in for a hell of a ride up north that is!!

to me, market has clearly over-reacted this "expected" discount rate move.

i agree, let see monday, i think the direction can be seen at monday, friday can be to risky to trade.

im sure aud/usd disappointed a lot of bears with position trades. reversals take time. i plan to add onto my position after a break of .888 - or wait for it to go below it and re-test it - will have to see
currently .8990 seems toppish

Next week 8970 - 9000 are key for me.
