Probably he's a long term trader. With SL min of 300pips and TP of 500 to 1000 pips. I see a lot of long term trader like this. 200 pips on the red does not faze them at all. Good luck brother. I'm also short. But I'm only a daytrader.

Now this I totally disagree with if you are a day trader what makes you think of going short... A daily close above 8950 invalidates longs for the time being...imho

Hi all, I added a new (red) fork to my daily chart. I'm waiting to see if it is paid any respect, but if we stay below the top line I'm going to play shorts tomorrow. If broken, the upper line of the blue one becomes my target again.

I am also mid-long term trader and in both ways dont risk more than 100-150 pips and going for minimum 1:1 RRR many times even 1:3,1:2...Just you must learn and learn and practice and practice discipline,succes will come

I'm sorry to hear about your current situation. Aussie will lose ground once equities will start plunging which I expect to happen at the end of this week or next one. There is a bearish trend forming on daily due to LH and LL. So there will be another leg down before the RBA decision in march.
The decision whether to close your position or not is fully yours responsibility or sometimes your broker's(margin call). It depends on a lot of factors such as position size, where you entered, s/r zones, which I can't see right now.

My honest opinion is that we will go down a bit soon and then contiune to go up tomorrow, midterm it is going down though. Depending on your time frame and size, you may want to just get out at the next downward movement. Perhaps someone can post some S/R points that can help you figure out an exite strategy.

Hi,

I was curious about those of you who are trading this longer term (more than a week or so...possibly even a month or two).....

What is your target?

It is just that there has been so much talk about parity and then everyone was talking about going down to about .84ish...so what are people thinking as a goal here?

My simple view on the dollar index...
Break or Retracement......but bearish is my overall view...

Hi Pipsbull,

I understand your thoughts and comments...but generally when new traders often enter the market they have a very weak tolerance level to loosing trades..hence the first page in my book of mentoring suggests that I would take them away from the phsycological pain of the loosing trade and then teach them what was incorrect about the trade.

Right now he needs our support not technicalmental guidance imho..

Long here and will TP at parity and will keep adding till it goes down to 60 cents.

I posted over 20 pages ago on this thread saying we would short from higher up.

Well, here we are.

Sticking my money where my mouth is, bought some daily 9000 puts at 5USD a point.

Could be targetting 8972 or even 8932..
