I put the Scooby Simple Entry Method bot on a $4200 demo account last night. It's now at 4718. Using MM. This is another bot where you can get a good entry and then use a trade manager to manage the trade, take partial profits etc.

It means somewhere in the code there is a line which doesn't agree with our MT4's, I wouldn't call it an error, since I have it running successfully on a Demo programme.

Key = comments. so when it trades you can see which EA sent the trade

Hmm.. how strange. I am running this on FXDD. None of these EAs agree with any of the FXDD platforms I have put them on as I have had no trades. I might give alpari a go.

Magic = the unique magic # for the pair
Key = the trade comment.

Depends on the hedge fund.

However, a rule of thumb is anything > 10% of equity DD forget.

I know a swiss based hedge fund trader who consistently achives +70% ROI with < 3% DD. Obviously he is very highly paid (7 figures) and is in constant demand from financial head hunters world-wide.

I think it indicates closing trades but they are still open. Any suggestions?

Yes I looked at that but Max seems to have included this in his updates.

I tried just reducing the Pairs to Trade to 5 but to no avail.

I am not a coder, just someone looking in.

Bull I didn't use a trade manager last night. I just let the trades run to completion. This morning I did close a few manually.

With Steve's trade manager you have a huge variety of trade management options like jumping stops, closing all trades when a target combined total is reached etc. I think it's best to read the manual and then play with the settings.

Thanks for the reply. What percentage do you think should apply to retail. The reason I am asking is because I see people talking highly of EAs which can have DD of over 60%. I think they should avoid, but I may be wrong. May be there is a logic I am missing.

The same percentage. The reason for the high DD in retail is because people are using too high lotsize and/or number of open trades at any one time for thier account. They do this to get rich quick. But what happens in reality is they blow their accounts.

On a 100K account you should not have more than a maximum of 10.0 standard lots open. This can be 1 trade x 10.0 or 10 trades x 1.00 or 100 trades x 0.10 or 1000 trades x 0.01 etc.
