Oanda- what's the minimum cents/pip you can trade?

Looking to test the waters with small money probably around $200-300 , i'd be happy with 5c a pip-is that possible?

Oanda is good for that. You trade units. 100 hundred units = a penny per pip on Eur/Usd. So you can trade as little as one per cent of 1 penny.

Even with a 50 dollar account you can still exercise proper MM and almost limitless granularity.

Also, you can easily divide your small account into smaller sub-accounts to make it easir to track results from different methods.

I started with trading 500 unit trades witch give you $.05 per pip. It makes it real money but doesn't kick your but if you lose ( well than depends on you SL ) but you get the point.

yeh im swing trading so i can trade tiny amounts without the 'swing trading has too wide stops' problem

One problem with so small position sizes: profits/losses from your trades are mixed with interest you get from your deposit So it's not so easy to track performance of your system.

I noticed that when I first started. So I started tracking my wins and losses on a notepad set for every 20 trades. This helped me find out what my win ratio was for every 20 trades.. I only take trades that I believe to have the highest probability this keeps me from over trading, I don't win them all but more than not... Oanda is good for me because I only use S&R lines and not indicators.. It is a little weak on the platform side I have heard from others but for my method it is fine..
