That could be a bullish sign. That's exactly what happens when big money goes for a buy in a quiet market. The price shoots up 20-30 pips and then gets sold back down by the public.

I see us climbing back to 888xx, 895xxx level. Do not think it's advisable to load any shorts yet.

I am moderately Bullish on this pair but it seems to have run into a brick wall just below 0.88., my basis.

Whatever happens I am getting out of this trade before the employment numbers come out tonight at 7:30 P ( my local time ).

I am currently Long at 0.88. In the short term if it doesn't break through by mid afternoon I will probably exit and take a small loss ( was down big last Friday).

Having open positions when employment numbers come out has not been very kind to me here lately.

you're trade must be huge, otherwise the aud would be dropping right now. im gonna try and get some sleep, but I KNOW as soon as i lay down, something will happen.. :/ and im starting to not trust .88

I can think of a lot more reasons, fundamentally and technically, for it to significantly down rather than significantly up.

I have to concur with those who are bullish in the short term. It has met considerable resistance at 8800. If the Americans break through this level I expect it will go to 8850 rather quickly. If the test fails then I see it falling back to the comfort zone of 8750. Even on the monthly chart it is peeking above the upper trend, confirming that 8800 is such an important level.

looks like the buyers may be tired, first bearish 30-min candle forming since the run-up. As long as it stays below .88, till announcement , I'll be happy.

I would have expected it to break the 88 level during U.S. session yesterday, With such a big gain in equites. It did flirt but never got there.
thats the only reason Im still short. and will remain until we break the 88.
Dow futures now stand at +30. Should be interesting for sure.

I am just hoping it will break through the 0.88 barrier before the news because I am out of this trade before the news comes out.

I am getting a formation of a drop on 1M and 5M, but will wait for trend line to be broken before I take a short. (Will post chart in 5 min)

These days whenever I get up in the morning, there is always a surprise waiting. Why does all the action happen while we are asleep? I bet if I place a sell at 8800 it will be at 8825 by breakfast time. Problem with being antipodean I guess.

Yeah I agree with you thats why I decided to never sleep again because I miss way too much action while I'm sleeping
